House was cold. No heating on when arrived. Wall heaters had not been switched on, timers not reset. No hot water.

Carpets not hoovered properly, sticky bits on lounge floor and dusty windowsill in kitchen. The steep staircase which is only mentioned on Sykes Cottages site - not on Booking.com. (probably wouldn’t have booked if I had seen this) Damp smells from ground floor especially in biggest bedroom - damp patches behind the bed. Beds too close to the wall but not much can be done about this. Poor plug positions (one in the smallest double b/room doesn’t work. No instructions for heaters. Poor parking (it would be a nightmare in the summer - before September). Lack of washing up bowl, outside light and cooker hood light not working. Kitchen tap is loose. Only 1 tumbler glass with a bit of a mish mash of wine glasses) No shower mat (can be a bit slippy). Hinge in side downstairs bedroom not stiff enough - it kept blowing wide open when only ajar which then made the blind rattle all night. Unable to open window next to fridge in the kitchen. Not enough cleaning tools (mop, long handled dustpan) for daily sweeping. Also can’t help thinking we dipped out with some welcome goodies that previous bookings mention.

Lovely views from the balcony. Well placed in the village. well stocked with kitchen utensils and stuff. Comfy furniture, good sized fridge/freezer. good wifi and TV
