Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI think it would be good if a folding clothes airer was provided to get beach towels and swimming things dry. The heated towel rail was fine for keeping the bathroom towels dry though, I just thought a clothes airer would be a useful addition for anyone who swam most days.
The room, although quite small, was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was modern and full sized toiletries were provided. The kitchen area was adequate for making a simple breakfast and the coffee machine and endless supply of pods was unexpected but much appreciated. The actual location was beautiful, not far from Mad Mary's outdoor cafe, the beach and was surrounded by woodland. We didn't use the pool as the weather wasn't brilliant except for one day, but it looked very inviting and there were sunbeds provided too. We would definitely stay here if we came to Jersey again.

United KingdomClimbing the steps as we both have bad knees
Ida & Richard know how to make you feel welcome at their spotless accommodation. We had a suite on the 1st floor with a small but well equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink and all the pots, glasses and cutlery anyone would need. We had a coffee machine which Ida kindly explained how to use and fresh bread, cake, cereals, and a beautiful platter of fresh fruit ready for breakfast on our first day. A large super king bed gave us the best nights sleep as it was so quiet and a view of the sea from the bedroom window and the roof window in the lounge area. Perfectly adequate shower room with toilet and washbasin and everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.

United KingdomA very small suggestion. The kitchenette was a little sparce, and would have benefitted from some extra cooking implements e.g microwavable pots.
The location was peaceful and picturesque, and the accommodation was very comfortable. Richard and his wife were very welcoming and accommodating.

United KingdomNothing not to like, if I had to pick something it would be that the shower was a bit weak. The only other thing that comes to mind is the parking is a bit tight if you have a big vehicle. I have a double cab pick up which is quite long. We did get it parked, but it was a bit of a faff. This was not down to the owners or the space, but more a case of people not parking their cars sensibly.
This has to be the cleanest property we have ever stayed at. It was spotless. The welcome breakfast was lovely and contained a lot of variety. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. There was a nice little bay just below the accommodation, which was nice. Just a nice chilled place.

United KingdomHaving to leave!
Really nice character house with updated rooms. Mine was upgraded to a junior suite which had pretty much full kitchen facilities, separate bedroom, couch on lounge with tv's in both areas. The hosts are lovely and welcoming and leave enough food for breakfast but lasted us the whole 4 days we were there inc an omelette for dinner one evening. Lovely spot out a Bouley Bay with buses that will drop you off at the door.

United Arab EmiratesThere was really nothing not to dislike.
Great room, really good views situated just minutes from the sea in one of the best bays in Jersey. The room was well laid out, plenty of space and the kitchen contained all the essentials. There was also plenty of off road parking.

AustraliaNothing - it was ideal for us.
A very peaceful and quiet location. The junior suite that we had was in excellent condition, well equipped and comfortable. There was a bus service that came past the hotel but it wasn’t very frequent so we would advise using a car. A continental breakfast pack was supplied for the first day but was sufficiently generous to last two days. An excellent M&S food shop is ten minutes drive away in St Johns, along with a restaurant/pub. The local village has another pub and small village shop.

United KingdomWe enjoyed the swimming pool, however it wasn't as well kept as it could have been and could be cleaner.
The first mornings free breakfast was everything you could want. The owners went all out and got decaf coffee pods for the coffee machine. We were in a Junior Suite which was fabulous. It was far more than I expected. Good sized kitchenette, huge bedroom area and a living/dining area. The en-suite was great too. The whole suite was fresh and well kept. The bed was really comfortable and massive. It said garden view but hey we could see the sea too. Bouley Bay is a bit remote but we managed to see all the island by bus and enjoyed plenty of walking.

United KingdomI would have liked a couple of coat hooks on the back of the door. The car park was over the road which made it a little difficult for my husband who couldn’t walk very far and also for unpacking and packing the car.
Excellent welcome pack with everything we could possibly need for our first night and breakfast. Very helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and quiet surroundings.
