Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The video sent by the host made the check-in process simple. The location was amazing - off the busy street, but so easy to walk right to the heart of the Royal Mile. I love the decor in this apartment and the new furnishings in the living room (not in the pictures) are a great addition. This was half-way through our 2 week trip and we were so grateful to be able to do our laundry! Machines were easy to use.

IrelandIt was very close to a busy street of pubs and lots of drunk people after a rugby match, there was people urinating in the alleyway from the street to the apartment. Nothing to do with the property owner, just bad luck for us on the weekend we picked. We didn’t hear much noise from the apartment. We just felt a bit uncomfortable on that street and was glad there was a few of us. It could be intimidating if travelling alone.
The apartment was clean and well equipped. The host provided clear instructions and responded to any enquires promptly. It was easy to control the temperature and overall was very comfortable. The location was close to the royal mile and there was a londis shop across the road.

AustraliaThe only downside was that one bedroom had an intense perfume scent in it and we could not locate the diffuser or the source to remove it. The perfume gave my wife a headache. I would consider not having a ent diffusers in any accommodation. They poorly mask unpleasant odours and affect many people negatively.
Location and amenities were fantastic. Having a washer and dryer was perfect.

The flat is very clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. Spacious and well equipped kitchen, cozy living room. Central location, close to everything. Bed and bedding are comfortable too. I received very informative information before arrival and has no problem at all throughout the stay. Our family really enjoyed the stay. Definitely recommend!

United StatesThe area outside the flat is a bit dirty and run down with graffiti and trash. You could hear the couple of bars and noise to the early hours. No A/C and we just happened to be there during a very hot spell. Beds were hard as rocks...not restful at all. A bit difficult to find at night when first arriving.
Excellent location and very quaint. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked to have quite the amenities. Bathroom and bedrooms were very clean and well kept. Responsive owners.
