Could be more options within the local town to eat but that is minor as it is a traditional Welsh town.

The pictures do not do this lovely little cottage justice. It was homely with plenty of space for the four of us and it was quite the bonus that each bedroom had its own ensuite, something I was not expecting! We will definitely return as the location is ideal and it has all the amenities one could ask for.

Stayed here with a group of friends for a quick get away. The place is amazing, fully equipped and very, very comfortable (most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in) Very accessible and we came by public transport! Maria is so lovely and is very responsive to our requests, we feel like we are treated like family, it really made a difference with our stay. There is big TESCO nearby that is about a 20-minute walk, the Waterfall hike is only one bus ride to Penderyn and the place itself is only one bus ride to the closest train station. It is even more convenient if you drive. There is a very lovely outdoor space that my friends and I really enjoyed (had a nice dinner outside) and the living room is best for cozy night in with a movie and some snacks. Everybody in the community is just so lovely, helping us with directions and questions. And there is free coffee, tea and biscuits that will save you in case you are here for hikes. We will definitely stay here again, this is the best!

In relation to the price paid, nothing. "You get what you pay for" so the saying goes, except here I'd say you get more.

This isn't five star luxury but then neither is the price. For less than the cost of a stay in the nearest "chain hotel" we had a two bedroom house (both en-suite) which was (very) clean and welcoming which also had a lounge, kitchen and dining area. For our needs (a base to stay in between walks in the Brecon Beacons), and for the price this couldn't have been more perfect. We didn't explore the local town any more than going to Tesco's to buy bits to make a picnic prior to going up Pen Y Fan (something else that would have been harder in a hotel room) but it appeared to have plenty of eating and drinking options. The house itself was in a quiet location and, albeit in sight of a main road we heard very little noise. A gem of a find.
