Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandGreat location. Beside Queens University and Botanic Gardens. Self-Service check-in straight forward enough. A free beer is a nice touch. Room was spacious, clean and inclusion of bottles of water was much appreciated. Bar downstairs very handy for a drink after a gig.

United KingdomThere was no lift and we were on the third floor, which was quite hard to navigate with a large suitcase. The hotel is situated in a very student-y area, but where our room was located, it was very quiet.
The hotel is really near the Botanic Gardens if you're in Belfast for a gig there its very handy. It's also a short-ish walk into the city centre. The room was large, and the bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. There was sometimes beer available on arrival, but we only got one bottle between the two of us, unfortunately. There are lots of cheap-ish places to eat nearby.

United KingdomWe stayed in one of the rooms over the bar. This is not a dislike because the hotel made it very clear that there will be noise and offer this room at a discounted rate becuase of it. All I would say is be sure you don't mind this as the noise from the bar is considerable. We would probably pay more for a different room next time we stay.
The hotel is in a good location close to bars and restaurants. The bar to the hotel is nice and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomOur room was directly overlooked by private apartments, I mean they could literally look into our bed if they had the inclination, which meant we couldn't open the curtains, a simple net curtain could remedy this, the room had no ceiling lights, only lamps so because we couldn't open the curtains the room was very dark. The bathroom window also was screwed shut, don't check in online either, when I tried this they wanted £100 deposit even though we'd already paid in full, didn't ask for this deposit when we checked in at the hotel, but all said and done at this price point, £105, I'd stay again, any dearer and I wouldn't.
Location for the reason we travelled was excellent, train station across the road, restaurants, bars ,take out, coffee shops right outside the door. Free bottle of beer on check in, assisted on self check in by telephone in lobby/ doorway.

AustraliaIts a hotel with a bar underneath which I understood and expected noise from that ( I had earplugs)I just found some fellow people staying in the hotel very inconsiderate- coming in during the early hours of the morning after nightclubbing and talking loudly, stomping about banging doors etc. We also had a fire alarm go off during our first night that was maliciously set off. So not getting the best night's sleep soured our stay a little.
The room was spacious and had a very very comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful storing luggage etc when we arrived.

Irelandnothing more than being petty, the power sockets could be in easier reach of the bed. and thats just laziness talking as there were plenty on the other side of the room and on one side of the bed.
room was great, comfy bed, great shower, no noise from street or bar downstairs and it was full when we were leaving and hadnt heard a thing as it was empty when we arrived and hour before. great location. the self check in was as much of a pain as self check out at Tesco, someone had to come and help us, we were in the hotel and climbing the stairs within 5 mins. staff were lovely, couldnt be more helpful.

BelgiumWe knew the area can be noisy with university students out on the street, but once the windows are closed it is not a problem. It was the noise from adjacent rooms that was more noticeable. The first night we had neighbors and you could hear every word they were saying - didn't help that they started singing karaoke at 3 am! Better sound proofing would make a big difference. What we also missed was a fridge. We were there for a couple of days, so having somewhere to store drinks and snacks would have been nice.
The self check-in was great! It went pretty smoothly and we appreciated how efficient it was. We were also glad that we could pop down to the bar if we had a question and the staff were very helpful. We know Belfast well, so the location worked for us. We enjoyed being near lots of food options and the botanic gardens. The room was bigger than expected and pretty comfortable. We enjoyed all the little details printed on things and had lots of fun people watching from the little window nook.
