Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGreat room but could do with a bit of updating. Room was above a bar so was very noisy at night and into the early hours, had to close windows at night, not ideal during hot weather.
Accommodation is situated in a great vibrant area of Belfast.

Irelandnothing more than being petty, the power sockets could be in easier reach of the bed. and thats just laziness talking as there were plenty on the other side of the room and on one side of the bed.
room was great, comfy bed, great shower, no noise from street or bar downstairs and it was full when we were leaving and hadnt heard a thing as it was empty when we arrived and hour before. great location. the self check in was as much of a pain as self check out at Tesco, someone had to come and help us, we were in the hotel and climbing the stairs within 5 mins. staff were lovely, couldnt be more helpful.

Room and location were very good . We got a cheaper room above the bar but heard a thing at night. We did have a little early morning street noise but we were sleeping with the window open. Staff in hotel bar were very friendly professional and efficient

BelgiumWe knew the area can be noisy with university students out on the street, but once the windows are closed it is not a problem. It was the noise from adjacent rooms that was more noticeable. The first night we had neighbors and you could hear every word they were saying - didn't help that they started singing karaoke at 3 am! Better sound proofing would make a big difference. What we also missed was a fridge. We were there for a couple of days, so having somewhere to store drinks and snacks would have been nice.
The self check-in was great! It went pretty smoothly and we appreciated how efficient it was. We were also glad that we could pop down to the bar if we had a question and the staff were very helpful. We know Belfast well, so the location worked for us. We enjoyed being near lots of food options and the botanic gardens. The room was bigger than expected and pretty comfortable. We enjoyed all the little details printed on things and had lots of fun people watching from the little window nook.

United KingdomIt was a very dark room, we ran out of toilet paper and it wasn’t replenished until we called reception twice to let them know and we had a power cut one night that meant we couldn’t iron our clothes for our dinner reservation or use any appliances to style hair etc. We were offered another room but it was too late.
Food was lovely, location was good and staff were so kind and helpful

United KingdomI find this part difficult it as it was my fault I didn’t sleep very well and I cannot blame the hotel. I booked a room over the bar thinking maybe the bar would have closed at 11pm, how wrong I was. There were people outside talking and laughing so loudly until 1am, I just couldn’t fall asleep. Then some weird noises that lasted ages which sounded like someone scraping furniture over a hard floor. Again I don’t want to say something bad about this as it was my fault I got this room but I think just some information that if you are going to book the room over the bar be aware you probably aren’t getting any sleep. Also I think I’m too old as I found the self check in annoying and would have loved to have seen a person.
The shower was great and the toiletries were really nice. The bed was comfy. The room was spacious and clean. The location was good and the tip about parking on the street for free was great.

United KingdomCheck-in at the kiosk wasn't great and the free beer fridge was empty for our entire stay, don't think it was restocked whilst we were there.
We were unable to check-in at the self check-in kiosk, a staff member went to speak to someone who sorted this out. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage until the room was ready. Bar and restaurant are fantastic, great atmosphere and the food was excellent, would definitely recommend but it is a bit of a walk to Belfast centre. Room was great, beds very comfortable.

United KingdomEasy and fast check-in, great instructions, the room was spacious, everything was clean. There is a small table amd a comfy chair to work, which was perfect for me. The location is good, very close to the university where I had my conference. Also close to the city centre, 15 mins on foot. The bus station is just outside, at the doorstep. The street is full of nice cafes and restaurants. I had a great stay, I must say quite an exceptional experience for me, it was spotless, so totally recommend!
