Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot really a dislike more an observation - it was a long way to the rooms and it was like a maze.

South AfricaThe service in the restaurant was slow and an item left behind in the room when room was changed was not handed to lost and found.
The grounds are beautiful and well located for attending Badminton horse trails. It's lovely to sit out on the lawns and enjoy a sundowner. The food at the restaurant was very tasty. The courtyard rooms are very basic the suite is more in line with expectations.

United KingdomThe food really wasn’t up to scratch. The food was overcooked and at one point I was served a burnt dauphinois potato. Of course I mentioned it to the waitress who had been told to serve it anyway. Hopefully the management will pick up on this. It’s a shame the food wasn’t better as the hotel is fab.
The hotel was very grand and the gardens were superb.

United KingdomNo information in the room about hotel’s services eg checking out time, provision of room service, no internal telephone directory - - indeed had to guess and no-one answered the phone when I tried to ring with a query. No clothes hangers at all in the wardrobe and I had to go to Reception twice (I walk with sticks) to ask because of no response to telephone call as outlined above; only 4 hangers were then brought! I was told “we’ve run out”!!
Beautiful property in beautiful setting. Good location for my stay

United KingdomNot that organised. Couldn’t find my booking even though I booked over 11 months ago . First room was terrible so asked to change rooms They were fully booked but managed to find us a room which was used for disability access( wet room ) this was much better On Saturday the cross country day of badminton they opened late for breakfast 7:10 and the hot food was delayed by 20 minutes Not sure what happened but ? Poor organisation I think they seemed poorly organised or fully booked ? Staff were very friendly but the hotel could do with being better organised I would have thought someone would have had the forethought of opening for breakfast a little earlier - predicting the need Seemed odd to me ?
The main part of the building is stunning , beautiful reception and restaurant

IrelandRoom was not terribly sound proof so could often hear people speaking next door or above. No air con, so was a little warm at night. Staff were pleasant but not overly friendly at times. All good otherwise.
LOVED the outdoor terrace for drinks. LOVED the dining hall, atrium restaurant, hotel ambiance. Pool is nice, excellent facilities. Light, bright, and airy feel throughout the hotel. Room was fine, bathroom a little dated but no problem with anything. Kettle/tea coffee etc. Could get ice and fresh water bottle refills.

United KingdomThe bathrooms could definitely do with an update - it was impossible to have a proper shower in our room as we couldn't angle the head such that we could stand beneath it. I also used the sink with the plug closed but then had to force it back open with a teaspoon to let the water drain away - I couldn't move it with my fingers at all.
Arriving at the entrance to the hotel and the drive up to the car park was absolutely beautiful - the grounds, trees and birdsong were amazing. There was a slight hitch with our room when we checked in (we'd booked a twin and this was confirmed at reception but when we got to the room there was one large bed made up) but it was sorted fairly quickly. Sitting on the terrace looking out over the arboretum in the evening was gorgeous - the weather certainly helped! We ate in the atrium bar which was tasty and the service was very good too. Breakfast was a little hectic as there were a lot of guests staying while we were there but we had a lovely table overlooking the gardens and were able to have a hearty breakfast - a poached egg option would have been nice though.

United KingdomMy room decor was dated. It was a good size, room but there was no fridge and not any bottled water provided. After coming back from a Wedding, I was gasping.
The breakfast choice was excellent. Apart from the budget sausages. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to explore the grounds & other facilities on offer.

United KingdomWe were in a courtyard suite for the weekend & were woken at 6am on both mornings with the sound of the upstairs resident stomping around. You expect solid ceilings etc in all areas of this building, old or new but not in this case?!

United KingdomThe Atrium bar/restaurant has totally unsuitable acoustics for live music. On both nights of our stay two unfortunate singers with guitars and unchecked amps ruined their voices and our dinners.
It’s interesting architecture in lovely grounds and the rooms are well furnished. Some rooms are quite a trek from reception, and there are no handy lifts, so be sure to ask about the most convenient parking zone for your room and specify ground floor if you can’t manage awkward stairs.

United KingdomWhile the hotel was amazing, the staff and the food in either of the restaurants was quite average (with above average prices). Quite long wait for the waiters as well despite the hotel being almost empty on a Monday evening.
