Lots of goods with just a few could do better but hopefully once the transition is finished it will deal with these small irritating issues.

The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for you or to help during our stay unfortunately there were not enough of them and they were run ragged, this resulted in us checking out without getting to speak to someone or just to say thank you. We rang the bell numerous times and due to knowing we didn't have a bill to pay we left our door card on the desk and left. The room was good but the bed could do with being upgraded to a more modern mattress as the old box spring one on it is a relic from the past, couldn't fault the on suite facilities. I understand the hotel is going through a renovation but just now it feels like one step behind being very good, I would say it was good but just needs a bit more to take it to the next level. The location was excellent and the grounds were lovely although even they just needed a wee bit more to take them to the next level. Dinner was fine but although the breakfast was nice and there was plenty to eat, the hot cooked breakfast was lovely but not very warm. I don't want to knock the place too much as I see the potential and realise it is going through a transitional period so probably would stay again in the future with a hope that the transaction is complete.

Only one thing . In the en-suite , the space between the shower glass panel and the toilet bowl was very narrow. I am a size 12 and it was OK , but for someone larger , it would be too tight. Just a design flaw. Otherwise , perfectly clean and a good powerful shower

Friendly staff. Comfortable clean room. Lovely evening , pre dinner drink in the garden. My husband particularly appreciated the chefs attention and fulfilment of his dietary needs.

Dinner menu didn't suit the standard of the hotel and expensive for what it was. Had to give a time to be at breakfast and was very little left and people after us.

I couldn't believe that a hotel of this level weren't able to offer me natural yogurt for breakfast. I explained in advance that I was on ablow carb diet due to diabetes and was assured that it would be available but wasn't - price was quite high for just average service

Although room was clean, the area out with and carpets weren't, but hopefully will improve once refurb completed. Breakfast: the continental option was good, but the cooked items not, scrambled egg was awful. Too expensive, unfortunately didn't realised at time of booking that it was non refundable if cancelled from day one

The breakfast was lovely and the location was absolutely amazing. I loved that it felt like a little piece of paradise in the countryside.

Unfortunately there had been a mix up with our check in with us being given the wrong room key. It was all fixed in a short amount of time with sincere apologies. Always think you should rate a place based on how they deal with mistakes, as they can happen to anyone.

The toilet was a little snug as it is positioned between the wall and shower screen

Breakfast, and no glasses in our room.

The location was good and the hotel had been updated since our last visit. Sadly the breakfast was not good. The hot dish had been made well in advance of our ordering and had obviously been left in a heater, I felt that the hotel wasn't so busy that the breakfast could not have been freshly made to order.

The only issue I had was I have bad knees and the stairs were hard to do multiple times a day. The only other issue was the high step into the bath.

I have stayed in numerous hotels and bed and breakfasts throughout Scotland. The most important thing I find about any stay in any establishment is that it has to be clean. I cannot fault the cleanliness of The Tinto Hotel. Room was large, bright and clean with a view of the grounds. The bed was firm ( as I like it ) and the room was quiet, as was the hotel as a whole. I slept well and heard no noise during the night. The hotel has a well stocked bar and a facility for evening meals. I did not partake in food apart from breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful with pastries , toast, fruit and cereal with the option for a cooked breakfast ( which I took.) Everything was well cooked and warm upon service. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I was told that the building is under renovations , which I did not hear, I did peak into an open room that was in the process of renovation and it looked good..

Bathroom was very dated and the shower was difficult.

Location was ideal as we were attending a wedding nearby. Very clean rooms.

The bathrooms could do with a bit of updating, although ours was clean and had everything required. glasses rather than paper cups would be nice.

The property was obviously in the middle of a major upgrade (although this didn’t detract from the facilities available. The breakfast was excellent!
