Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe mattress in our room was a little on the bouncy side.
The location was excellent - on top of a wonderful Thai restaurant (recommended). The property had charm and character and was very clean. The shower gets top marks. The host (Tina) is very helpful and easy to communicate with.

AustraliaBeds were not very comfy. The shared dining room was used by downstairs restaurant - possibly due to miscommunication - so we could not use it.
Location was right in the middle of town, so great for walking to pubs and shops. Bathroom in Deluxe room was very spacious. Lots of character but CONTACT HOST BEFORE BOOKING if you have any mobility issues as deluxe room is up 2 flights of narrow stairs and has very low doorway. Washing machine was very useful!

United KingdomThe only complaint I had if I had to, was that we arrived on a Monday and a lot of places in the area was closed. No fault of the booking or the place in itself. And it's a quiet village, so I half expected it.
The room was beautiful, the bed was very comfy and I really enjoyed the tudor house feel of the place. The staff Tina was amazing and very helpful, even with the silly little questions I had about local places etc.

United KingdomWe were expecting parking at the accommodation but it was just around the corner in a public car park which is quite cheap and is free after 6pm and on Sunday so it wasn't a problem.
Great location in the town centre and bonus to receive a discount for a great meal at the Thai restaurant below the accommodation. It's a large beautiful Tudor style bedroom and also has a table and sitting area. Check in was easy and Allan was very helpful. If we were staying longer we would have used the well equipped kitchen.

United KingdomThe quality of the toweling could have been better, plus TV on a bracket on the wall would be comfortable but I'm being very picky as I enjoyed my stay and would recommend others to stay too.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to stay for breakfast but I am sure it would have been delicious and served by friendly staff as I had dinner two days before my stay and it was a lovely meal.

United KingdomA low beam on the way out got in the way of my head a couple of times, despite being well marked! Also the combination lock on the back door took a bit of getting used to.
Full of character, well equipped and very friendly and helpful owners, who also run the Thai restaurant downstairs and give a discount to guests. Centrally sited in Kington town centre.

United KingdomIt has to be said (and already has) that parking and access is not easy. Free car park is a 100 yards away down Crabtree Road behind the Nisa supermarket. Best to park in Harp Yard to unload the luggage first. You can walk through the Nisa as a shortcut from the car park to the High Street! The yard behind the shops isn’t the most attractive of places and on the weekend was wet and muddy and dark. Access is coded with the key to the room in a key safe. The Wine Vaults across a courtyard outside our bedroom window had a ‘disco’ on the Friday! Loud drum ‘n’ bass, techno and Sweet Caroline that they sang heartily to! But. It was quiet by eleven. Saturday was noisy too but again quiet by bedtime. The stairs are steep and there are low beams. But, I’m six foot and it all added to the adventure! The kitchen had a mastic gun and dirty workman’s cups, but, we didn’t wash ours up either! Despite the issues we would stay again.
A large warm comfortable and pleasant room. Beams and antiquity. Two good sized single beds pushed together to make one large comfortable bed with king sized bedding. Bedside tables and lamps. Chest of draws with tea, coffee, chocolate etc. kettle, obvs. Tele and tele table. Sofa to sit on. All very clean and welcoming. Big bathroom with good shower over. Plenty of hot water and complimentary toiletries. Light and clean. Use of a dinning room and kitchen. Kitchen has all you need. Fridge was very useful for our Prosecco. Downstairs is a Thai restaurant. There are plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants. Wonderful area for walking and sightseeing. The room(s) were great for an independent leisurely weekend. We enjoyed the freedom to cook if we wanted; we didn’t! Tina the host is quick to respond and was very informative and helpful.

United KingdomOn the downside, the low beams and doorways - although very picturesque - proved a bit of an irritation, particularly for my 6ft3in partner. We had to go up the small flight of steps inside our room on our hands and knees to avoid banging our heads - and going down wasn't much easier. This is definitely not a place for someone with mobility problems or a bad back. The pub next door was extremely noisy on our first night (Friday) but fortunately things quietened down at 10pm each night so it wasn't really a problem. Parking was free but a five minute walk away in a busy public car park.
Heritage House is a beautiful old building and our room (number one) was comfortable with a huge bed. The bathroom was especially luxurious, with a big bath and separate shower. There is also a shared kitchen for residents and, although the owner was unable to provide cooked breakfast during our stay, she very kindly arranged for us to go to a friendly nearby pub each morning for our full English. The property is in a great location for exploring the west and northern parts of the county, especially if you enjoy walking (see pic from Offa's Dyke Path), and there are several options for eating out nearby in Kington.

United KingdomUnfortunately though the Thai downstairs says closes at 9pm, on our first night they had customers stay back and by 1am had to ask them to keep the noise down - the old building has little sound insulation. Think this is a rare occurrence, one off during our three night stay.
Fantastic stay, quirky olde worlde room but with all mod cons. Tina was an excellent host and we would return again happily and hope to. Extremely handy for the area and all the shops / cafes a matter of just moments away

United KingdomThe place didn't do breakfast which I expected at the time I booked. It may have been because I didn't read what I was booking carefully. I was also disappointed by the lack of choice of places to eat especially on the Sunday night.
The walks in the area were very good with excellent views. The amount of nightlife in the town exceeded my expectations. It was also good to be able to get breakfast in the near by hotel.

Great place to stay with a spacious and clean room and bathroom. It was nice having a well equipped shared kitchen to use with coffee, tea and basics like oil, salt/pepper, etc. Bar next door had a band one night who were enjoyable - listened from our room.
