The doors were very squeaky, the front door lock was a little sticky and needed a couple of attempts to get it to lock.

The internal doors are fire doors, so it was hard to keep open, and keep rooms warm. The lounge was not that comfortable.

Plenty of room, great to have a fridge, oven and washing machine. Ground floor was convenient.

We had the double and 2 single rooms. The single beds were the extra small size so didn't get 5 stars from 2 teenagers.

Despite the positive aspects, there were a few areas that could use some attention. The keys for the apartments to check in were placed in different envelopes but in one same safe. This felt quite unsafe as other guests had access to that safe upon check in. We encountered an issue with the emergency contact number, which did not work when we had some questions. We had to figure it out by ourselves how some things had to work, such as heating of the apartment and Wifi. Since no one came at 10.00 for check out, we stayed in the apartment waiting until someone arrived. At 10:45, the manager called us with an unexpectedly angry tone, demanding that we vacate immediately due to late check out. This abrupt and inadequate communication was quite surprising and left a negative impression.

Our stay at this apartment was overall pleasant. All the amenities and items provided were in good working condition, which made our stay comfortable. The room size was generous, providing ample space for us to relax and move around comfortably. One of the biggest advantages was the convenience of parking right outside the apartment, which made it very easy for us to come and go as we pleased.

There are no lifts in the building. We requested a ground floor apartment for my mobility impaired mother (which we did receive) however she was unable to shower because she couldn’t climb into the bath. Having accessible bathrooms in the ground floor apartments would be very helpful. Was a bit further out of the city than I was expecting - a 10 min drive.

Great kitchen facilities & very spacious. Staff were wonderfully helpful when we were late arriving & couldn’t access our apartment - thank you. Free & easy parking.

Accessing keys using locker was new for me and at a previous facility it was very difficult as well but at Spires it was smooth and the instructions were very clear and simple.

There were no hooks in the bathroom or bed room to hang the bath sheet after use. I only stayed a night but would have fold this an issue if staying longer. The TV in the living room was small.

I liked the location being just outside the city centre as it was quiet at night time. The bed was also very comfortable.

Salt granules on stair carpet might have been removed after a couple of days.

That the apartment was on the top floor and there is no lift. The traffic noise from the street below in the bedroom significantly noisy

The stairs to get to the apartment - we had three flights of stairs and large luggage.

The flush mechanism on the loo was not fit for purpose and was tricky to use successfully. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly. Also, the doors to the property are fire safe so close automatically; we had to prop them open (H&S people ignore this comment!) so we could hear the kids and the dog.

Location excellent for our needs. Clean and comfortable.
