Loved everything! Only criticism… The complimentary hot chocolate in reception was watery and not chocolatey enough.

    Pristine and pretty decor

Main desk and staff disinterested which lets the hotel down. Bedroom service disappointing - missed on first day and came very late second day despite polite requests.

Fantastic location, next to Edinburgh Waverley station with its own entrance opposite station exit at street level. Royal Mile, Princess Street etc short walking distance. Rooms well equipped, in very good decor and look recently by refurbishment

Rather tricky to find what entrance to use with several on option. ended up taking the stairs that were multiple flights to find a lift next to them after our stay.

Clean, tasteful decor. Hotel was pretty and room was very comfortable with added extras like ghd hair dryer and straighteners.

    No negatives

Adult daughter, two teen daughters and I loved the exterior and interior design, architecture and decorating. Staff were all exceptional. Ate in breakfast hall and cafe several times- all meals excellent. Perfect location to train station and everything we wanted to do.

Front desk staff weren’t as organized as they could have been. They called to tell me we had things in our room after check out and asked when we were leaving after my husband had already pre-arranged and paid extra for a late check out. Elevator is tiny and hotel is layout is confusing to navigate.

Location was near train station and restrairants. Rooms were comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast manager was courteous and went out of his way to provide me with gluten free scones.

The roadworks on north bridge are annoying but it is out of the hotels control. A coffee machine in standard room would be great but understand the need for perks of the upgrade.

The location is great. It feels like a special place. The room was brilliant. Quiet, comfortable, clean and a bit more luxurious than similarly priced places. Alternative entrance from Waverley.

Disappointed with the room as no aspect . Also upgrade wasn’t advised so was a disappointing start. Was moved up a floor but felt too closed in when looking out at walls mostly

    Very close to Waverley Stn

Overall a bit disappointed, no value for money... The room was nice, but smaller than we expected. There was a window, but so high that we could not really see anything but the sky. The breakfast was a disappointment. It wasn't as varied as you could expect from a hotel who markets itself as "luxury" hotel. Besides the Scottish breakfast (small buffet of bacon, beans, haggis, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, eggs) only couple of bread options (toast and ordinary loaf), couple of hams, no cheese for the bread, no vegetables really (tomatoes, olives...), coffee was cold and tasted like water. There was some berries and fruits, they were fresh and nice! There was also a different information about the breakfast's time, hotel informed 7, but it started 7.30 (weekend). The staff at the breakfast was not very helpful and seemed a bit incompetent. We weren't so bothered by the lack of options, but more by how everything was a bit dry, cold and the atmosphere was not inviting at all.

The location of the hotel is fantastic and the building itself is beautiful with lots of history. The hotel front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom and shower was nice.
