Room was tired and needed updating, cracked sink and leaking tap. Due to having a dog with us, we had to sit it the bar area and fetch breakfast from the main hall which was inconvenient as it was some distance. Our room was located a big distance from exit, which was also not convenient with a dog. Also charging £10 to park on the hotel grounds was annoying.

Distance from town was very convenient.

All staff helpful and friendly, good selection of breakfast, good selection in the bar to, lovely old building, the grounds of the hotel beautiful to, the hotel was close to the town, I'm an Agatha Christie fan so it was nice to think I had stayed in the same hotel as her,

The double bed was small only 4'6" and the floor sloped but the bed wasn't leveled. And room service delivered a cold breakfast.

The bedroom had no temperature control. The double bed was quite small, just adequate.

The excellent shower and spacious bathroom. Good choice for breakfast. The staff were always attentive and welcoming.

The property is a little dated inside but this didn’t impact enjoying our stay. We would have liked better vegetarian options for the cooked breakfast and fresh orange juice/yoghurt/granola for room service.

The larger suites had a good living space with a door separating it from the bedroom which made travelling with a 5 month old much more enjoyable. The staff were pleasant and helpful, even the groundskeeper offered to stop mowing the lawn when he saw that our baby was asleep. Room service for breakfast was good and meant less hassle getting baby up and dressed. Despite the hotel being a little dated in style inside it was well appointed and clearly run well. The bathroom to our suite had a good size roll top bath with shower over and nice l’occitane products which exceeded what we expected. Would definitely come back.

The shower was fixed head suggest an additional flexible hose, awful soap dispensers reminiscent of a hostel

Room was dated but very clean There was only one set of towels and 2 people in the room. We asked for another set and returned to the room late in the evening to still only one set. Went and asked again and 10 minutes later loads of towels arrived and an apology. TV didn’t work very well it kept breaking up.

Location is good and it has parking. Breakfast was nice and breakfast staff friendly. Reception staff nice but a bit short.

No mini fridge in Executive room. The lift could do with lights working and a floor counter.

The hotel staff were friendly and the location is excellent. The railway station really is 10-15 minute walk away. Betty's and The Ivy about 5-8 minutes.

The rubbish type smell in the bathroom. Our room 149 was at the rear of the hotel just above the kitchen.

Everything was excellent except for the rubbish type smell in the bathroom particularly but also in the room.

Single bed in my solo traveller room! I know I was travelling alone but expected at least a small double bed.

Great location for the conference centre. About a 5/7 minute walk

There was a leak from the washbowl, but was sorted quickly. The others in the hotel were noisy after we were asleep and we were woken up.

Cleanliness of room, nice towels, drinks (water), breakfast, tea, history. Staff helpful. Location of hotel good and central. Parking was good, but we did think it was free.

No drawers. Not a problem for 2 nights but could be on longer stays

Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Peaceful garden and only 15 minute walk from train station. Very friendly staff. Real mushrooms at breakfast !
