Shower size great for me as I’m small but my husband is a tall, large man and it was slightly on the small size other than that we liked everything

A light which comes on when you approach the door would be helpful .

We had a ground floor room overlooking the garden. On Sunday morning we watched squirrels and a variety of birds in the beautiful grounds. The beds were comfy with nice white bedding and the towels were large and spotless. Good hospitality tray with decent biscuits which were replaced when we ate them. Plenty of complimentary toiletries.

Our only negatives were the hot water in the shower that we told is an ongoing problem, and the bathroom is rather cosy but very clean.

Lovely old house with a plenty of history and character, fantastic garden. Location of property to Ely is within easy walking distance to the centre and the Cathedral. Having a carpark is a massive bonus. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choices and very friendly staff.

Little modern about the fittings (eg, the bedside lights or the wallpaper) but the towels were a good size, the water was hot, the sheets clean.

Affordable room compared to other venues in Ely. Nice old guest house with a lovely looking garden (too cold to be outside in early March). Good breakfast in a large dining room overlooking the garden.

It's bit difficult to recognise the entrance gate from a moving vehicle. Perhaps put an illuminated sign at the gate?

The host was very welcoming and attentive : e.g., during meal times. The food at both the evening meal and at breakfast was both wholesome and satisfying. It's an easy walk to the cathedral from The Nyton Guesthouse: Ely Cathedral is amazing! The property has a large garden and I look forward to visiting again during the summer.

I can just suggest to put some lights on the driveway, coming back at night, with the rain, and without battery on my phone to use the torch, it was very difficult!

The en suite was a bit cramped. The building itself overall was a bit shabby and could do with a bit of tlc When we read the negative comments in some other reviews we thought they must be talking about somewhere else as we just didn't recognise a lot of the points made Some downsides but definitely outweighed by the upsides

We stayed 2 nights Excellent location close to city centre, very convenient while being quiet. Having its own carpark is a real bonus, a definite plus point The staff lady who served breakfast was really friendly and pleasant, lovely manner The breakfast was very good, generous too, cereals as well as cooked.The poached eggs and scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, really good We liked the characterful 1920s building, the interior wood panelling, the lovely dining room and lounge Our room had a great view over the large lawns and big cedars, lordly really The bedroom was nicely decorated, very comfortable bed and very quiet for a good night's rest We would stay here again
