Ruridh in the spa was incredible but can't say the same for some others too busy chatting to answer or be polite to guests.

Absolutely incredible stay, far exceeded expectations. Great gluten free options at breakfast, beds soo cosy, robes beautiful, facilities and spa stunning. Staff very welcoming especially James.

The only draw back is remote working - no desk in the hotel bedroom and very few quiet nooks, or charging points, in the hotel if needing to make virtual calls.

Location is stunning. We have been returning to North Berwick to this hotel for twenty years. The hotel offers great facilities for families and couples alike. The hotel spa and swimming pool and gym are great for when the weather is less kind. Golf, beach walks and wild swimming. A wide choice of rooms are offered - obviously the sea view rooms are the best if the budget allows. The restaurant was very good - venison and hake delicious, and the staff excellent. The lounge is comfortable with lovely views. Reception staff very helpful and friendly too.

The location is perfect. Really nice refurbishment. Staff all pleasant and very helpful. Treated ourselves to an upgrade on arrival and got a corner suite with an exceptional view. Spa and pool area still as good as ever and aids relaxation.

Not really something you can change easily but my cars front spoiler bottomed out on the road exiting the car park ramp.

I loved the decor, the service and the food. It was excellent all round. I was only vexed to be staying one night! I would loved to have had time to try out the spa!

As it had been a busy week for the hotel and restaurant , the restaurant had limited choice on their menu with no lobster , venison or fish available .

There was a lack of atmosphere and the whole hotel was very dark and heavy looking in its decor. Made for a gloomy, serious feel. It felt as if it has been created for the American market and hadn’t considered its UK visitors. Would be wonderful if it was lightened a bit!

Breakfast was excellent. Room was extremely comfortable with all you could need.

Dated bathroom, very thin towels. Water pressure made it almost impossible to shower. We were not made aware of meal offers in the evening which was a shame.

Recently refurbished and I thought alot of it was awful. In the one large sideboard housed the fridge etc but another fake walnut set of drawers or desk was ghastly particularly if you were staying more than a few days you has nowhere to put non hanging stuff. In addition the bedside cabinets were blue. The wallpaper throughout was garish. There was no phone in our room so we couldn't phone for room service as stated in their welcome pack. The bathroom was small nowhere to put your washbags. Chips in the bath and cracked tiles on the floor. A lovely victorian building filled with fake furniture.

The staff were all lovely. They couldn't do enough. The spa was great.

Loved the decor, the rooms are decorated with a vintage vibe which keeps it similar to how it could’ve been back in the day. The thermal spa is so refreshing. The beds are comfortable and the food in the restaurant unreal.
