I wasn't to happy being woken by loud music from the pub a few doors down I understand your located in town but not good being woken by loud music.

There were stains that appeared to be nail varnish stains on the lamp shades, headboard and all the way up the wall above the bed. They didn’t appear to be fresh stains but were not sure 100% sure what they were. The floors were quite creaky but it’s an older building so that’s expected. We went to reception at 9am to check out and there were no staff there. We rung the bell twice but nobody came. We searched for staff for 5 minutes but there was no one around but somebody did eventually come so if you’re in a rush to leave, just be mindful! The car park was full so we had to use nearby council car parks which was fine for us but be mindful if you have a lot of luggage. Our room was quite close to the next one so you could hear a lot if someone was in the hallway but it didn’t bother us too much.

Comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Lovely old building, a little tatty in places, but still has lots of charm. For me, most importantly, is that the hotel is dog friendly and reasonably priced.

Due to the location there wasn't space for an adequate car park.

I liked staying in such an old, characterful building. I liked the friendly helpful attitude of the staff, especially evening receptionist Lauren. I liked the comfortable bed and free WiFi.

rooms are outdated, carpets was clean but not looking great anymore. Renovation is needed for this hotel.

The noise from pubs, police cars and road sweeper at 4.30 am

location was good , room very nice clean and comfortable. unfortunately we stayed on a Saturday night . Being on the high street was extremely noisy until, pubs and clubs closed, which ment no sleep until 5am !!

Night porter on our second night, made us feel that guests were a nuisance and got in the way. First 'hint' that we should go to bed - turn out half the lights, second turn off the heating, third attempt to clear our glasses while they were still in use. Fortunately, we were able to ignore these moves and continue to enjoy our relaxation with each other.

The building, it oozed character. On site car parking in the middle of town without charge. Location, just a short walk to all town centre facilities, shops, retaurants etc. Staff, generally very pleasant, some particularly nice.

No WiFi, 10:30 checkout on a Sunday is unreasonable, particularly as Xmas functions with loud music continued until midnight on both evenings

I had a problem with a phone alarm ringing constantly from 5.30, from a neighboring room. I could not get the night porter by phone and had to get dressed and go down to the main desk to get help. This did disrupt my sleep for the night.
