Our second visit combining business with a short break. Hotel is in a superb location so just works.

The check in/check out via a computer screen is not very welcoming. Just having someone sitting at a small desk to check people in so guests can engage with a human being would be much more friendly. No opportunity to give feedback good or bad via this approach.

Room was nice along with the bar/lounge area. Did find the room rather hot though Staff are lovely; polite and friendly and keen to help.

Minor gripes - but I was disappointed that spa treatments weren’t on offer when I stayed. The breakfast menu is not as extensive or exciting as some hotels offer.

This was my 3rd stay which tells you that it’s a favourite. Clean, cosy comfortable bedrooms. Nothing flash about the decor but they look pleasing and do the job. The highlight of the hotel is however its spacious & welcoming communal area adjacent to the bar and restaurant. With free tea and coffee available at all times & a selection of board games on offer it’s possible to just enjoy the space and not be cooped up in your room. This is invaluable if you’re using the hotel as a base to meet student children or if you want to chat with friends from an extended group or simply sit and read or play a board game in the evening. The pool is pleasant and nice to have. I loved the location within easy walking distance of Gylly beach. The restaurant is pretty good and has a convivial feel - especially enjoyed the local wine. I appreciated the environmental focus. Over all it feels like a home from home and I will be back.

Pre-check in details completed. Automated self check in on arrival (we were a little early) and trying to find a member of staff to hold our bags till our room was ready. However, the welcoming receptionist called us when we were visiting Pendennis Castle to update us on check-in and we were given tea on second arrival and showed personally around the hotel and to our room which made up for the inconvenience. As a suggestion, it would be helpful if there was a bell or similar so that if reception is unmanned, other staff are alerted to guests in reception.

Lovely hotel with welcoming, friendly staff and comfortable, abundant and well furnished guest spaces. Lovely room, great pool and wet sauna and terrific home made breads, juices and hot breakfasts. Loved it all!

On the first day we said we didn't need the room cleaned. Beyond that, someone came into clean the room but in quite a hasty way - the floors really needed hoovering and the bathroom could have done with being cleaned better.

Comfy room and nice to be able to use the pool, steam room and gym. The breakfast was lovely.

Not much! Unfortunately we presumed (forgot to check) the restaurant would be open NY Eve as the beautiful in-house restaurant was part of our selection process. That said, we really enjoyed our stay and will go back.

Lovely, comfortable room. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and New Year. Loved the lounge and library areas with the open fire. Very Christmassy.

Room was a little small and had blended some of the 1980s fittings feel with modern which wasn’t quite my cup of tea.

Attractive reception rooms on ground floor.

We had a bottle of prosecco on arrival- £35! That was way too expensive. My sister's room was very big, mine was quite small. Although it says facilities for disabled guests, it's not possible to visit if you're in a wheelchair

Harrison our waiter at breakfast was so friendly, patient and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious.

The bathroom window was broken so couldn’t be locked shut, the pool/spa facilities were okay, jet pool wasn’t working. We were told the wrong room when checking in. We were told there would be robes in the room for the pool/spa but their wasn’t.

Location was excellent and the room very comfortable.
