Was surprised to pay for parking as a guest, understandable if you’re not staying there. Water in basin also wasn’t hot ( except once)!! but shower was excellent

No lift to access floors ,and we was situated on top floor . Bedroom was on a slant as was the bed and all furniture making you feel like you was on a ship.

The car park. It is very small, not clearly marked out and can be tricky to park in especially if you are getting the last space. Parking being included in the price (or even better free) would possibly take the edge off complaints about it.

We love The George. We always stay here if we are in the North Lakes. The staff are great, the food is great and the rooms are always clean, tidy and sizeable. It is a great base for anywhere in the north lakes.

The whole time spent at The George Hotel was a nice relaxing experience ,our room was very comfortable and clean and the staff all seemed very nice especially at Breakfast time nothing was too much trouble ,wouldnot hesitate to stay there again .

The pedal bin in the bathroom had not been emptied since the previous occupier but having stayed here several time this was an exceptional fault The car park can be difficult to find.

It has its own car park although it is no longer free it is safer than in the street. I like the traditional style of the building. On this visit I had a bigger room and the bathroom door did not stick. I think it had recently been refurbished and was excellent.

It was a little run down in places and some rooms a bit small, but fine for the area. A bit pricey for what it was.

Great staff. Comfortable and excellently located. I managed to get moved to a much nicer room. Some are much better than others.

The friendly and helpful staff. Very considerate and moved us to 1st floor instead of the 3rd. My husband would have struggled with the stairs.

Breakfast wasn't very good. Had Eggs Royale on day 1, which was almost inedible, and the full Cumbrian on day two, which was almost acceptable. There were power ballads playing during breakfast too, which was a bit much! It let the experience down.

Beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of a beautiful town. 5-7min walk from train station. Reception staff very helpful. Nice room with lovely bathroom - double size shower with rainfall setting was excellent! Very quiet at night and we didn't hear a peep out of the other guests. The best I've ever slept in a hotel!

The shower, only because it was roasting and obviously faulty. We couldn’t get it to cool down but part from that everything else was great.

The room, parking, food, friendlessness of staff and location were great. Also we travelled with dogs and they could have not been helpful enough. The parking is a £3 charge per night but at least you have space and safe parking.
