No wi fi during the storm and stuff wasn’t helpful at that time. Was a little bit too noisy in the first night. The breakfast is not good and the floor is very dirty and sticky. The view from the window is not pleasant.

The first room I was offered. The receptionist changed it to another room straight away.

The room was serviced every day and the staff were nice.

The heater in the room-409 was bad. The heater in the lobby (all floors) were switched off. I learned it's the same in the rooms in higher floors. I stay at the hotel once before in 1st/2nd floor and it was much better.

Amazing breakfast. Kitchen staff were respectful and always smiling. It would have been a nice stay in a seaview room (4th floor) but for the chilling cold in the room! The room door wasn't air-tight, sort of 1-2mm gap where cold was sweeping into the my room. The heater in the lobby was either switched-off or defective. The heater in my room was like a fridge itself! The thermostat was defective I reckon. It was serviced upon my request but not much difference. I left the hotel (after 4 nights) with mild cold and headache. I won't try higher floors room next time.

I thought some of the cooked breakfast items (bacon and black pudding) had been left out too long and had dried up. Perhaps smaller amounts, put out as required, would improve this. Loose-hanging net curtains on one window in our room - looked scruffy.

The breakfast was great as well as the staff. The original room we booked was fine but I went and asked if the penthouse was available and it was for an extra £30, well worth it! The penthouse was fantastic! Very impressed.

Having to chase the server’s at breakfast to get a pot of tea, then again to get some milk also they didn’t clear the plates from the table after cereal when you went to get cooked,

Nothing major. Would have liked some more coffee/ Tea/ milk in the room. Only enough for one cup each per day. ( although I am sure we could have got more if we had asked) Possibly in the longer term the breakfast room could do with some modernisation. It is definitely functional and clean bu it is looking a bit dated

Excellent location centrally on Douglas Promenade just a short walk to the town centre Good alternative access for disabled/ physically challenged people at entry and throughout the hotel. Good transport links - bus stop just outside hotel with a frequent bus service in each direction Staff were all friendly and helpful Rooms were clean and well maintained Good breakfast and very good food in the restaurant . Good food/ snacks available at the bar

The bar staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet and warm. The breakfast was just right. Lovely stay. Will stay there next time on the island.

The first room we had was very small, in fact I ‘stubbed’ my toe every time I went round the bed to get into bed. There was only one chair so it wasn’t easy relaxing and watching tv. Moving was an extra difficulty.

The breakfast was very good. We asked about a bigger room for the reasons stated below and we were given I much bigger and more comfortable room with two easy chairs and a desk chair. It was a lovely room but we were disappointed that we had to move as we were visiting a very sick relative and the trip was stressful enough without the change of room. Our ferry was cancelled, late, on the day of our departure and the hotel was able to give us a room at short notice so we were pleased with that although again it was a small room!

All good, can't fault anything, staff were helpful and prompt. Breakfast is ok and standard for the price you pay. Lovely promenade setting with close access to the town shops, theaters.

Have stayed at the Empress when on business many times and have always been very happy with all aspects of my stay.

The only thing I think the rooms need are a bar fridge. The beds were not that comfortable a little on the hard side but overall they were clean.

This was a lovely property. Situated across from the water with lovely views out to the ocean. Close to town and walking distances to coffee shops and restaurants. The property had a bar and restaurant. Both nights we stayed in the bar area for drinks and to listen to the piano player. The first night we had dinner from the bar menu and it was delicious. I would stay here again.
