The location of the hotel was great for local transport links, bars, restaurants and shops. The price was very good including breakfast. We thought the bar area was comfortable and reasonably priced with a sea view.

Cooked breakfast was self-service -which I've not seen since pre-covid, but its a good thing to be able to serve yourself! Kippers had to be ordered separately but were excellent! Room was clean and comfortable; staff were helpful We had a restaurant meal one night which wasn't cheap, but was very nice The hotel was good value for money

Lift out iof action for entire stay. Only one lift for entire hotel. Allocated a room of third floor (no view) radiator noisy and pipes banging even when switched. Husband had to climb the stairs 6 times on arrival due to one thing and another and reception not answering phone. Although active pensioners found the stairs a challenge. After complaing allocated a room on the first floor (still no views - facing a wall. On speaking to a guest on the day we were due to leave the staff had told them the lift only broke the day before they arrived eventhough that wasn't true.

The hotel was centrally situated. Furnishings in lobby and bar area good. Food pricey but well presented and good. Bedroom not big for family room but they managed to fit a double and single. Clean and serviced regularly

Parking close to the hotel was tricky due to restrictions. We eventually found somewhere about a fifteen minute walk away, which was fine as we only had a small overnight bag, but may be problematic for other guests with more luggage. The only lift in the hotel was out of order, again didn't pose a problem for us but older guests or those with heavy bags may have struggled with the stairs.

Thankfully we were able to find last minute accomodation for the night at The Empress as our ferry to Liverpool was cancelled due to Storm Kathleen.The hotel was easy to find. It was spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming and friendly, particularly the breakfast staff. Beds in our family room were very comfy. The piano player in the foyer was a lovely touch. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but it looked popular and the food looked great.

The breakfast area is in need of refurbishing as the hotel is lovely I just thought the breakfast area let it down . Staff at breakfast especially the Irish lady went above & beyond helping & serving us breakfast

Perfectly located, very clean and friendly helpful staff. Well presented establishment frim foyer to rooms. Great breakfast and plenty of choices, super shower, comfy bed and room. Decent bar and tea time menu, was looking forward to Sunday lunch but sightseeing got in the way. We will definitely return to this hotel when visiting IOM.

Net curtains in room very badly stained and had holes in. The sealant round the bath looked like it had been done by a 3 year old

There was a school prom type event on in one of the function rooms the evening we stayed. The music was incredibly loud (to the point that the bathroom was vibrating!) and didn't stop until midnight. We did call down to reception and, to be fair to them, they did offer to move us to a room a few floors up. Problem is by this time we were very much in our pjs etc. With hindsight it seems odd that we were even put in a room one floor above a loud event if the staff knew on arrival that there was an equivalent room available a few floors up. It didn't ruin it but it was disappointing to not be able to sleep till after midnight after a full day of hiking.

Main lobby, restaurant and bar area are lovely. Good assortment for breakfast and helpful staff. Room was fine, if slightly on the cramped side (there were three of us).
