Idyllic quiet setting for a peaceful stay in Kent

The light switches for the bedside lamps were a little too far away for my liking and one of our mugs was chipped.

The pub and rooms are set in a very quiet location, accessed by a single track road with passing places. The family room was really spacious even with the bunk beds. The wet room was a pleasant surprise as well. The actual pub is lovely as it’s been kept like an old Inn with hops hanging from the ceilings, old pictures and muskets hanging on the walls. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely exceptional full marks to their chefs. We only stayed the one night but popped back for dinner after visiting the Peony Farm which is about a 6 minute drive away.

The pub was lovely and the accommodation was comfortable and full of character. Parking was somewhat challenging on a motorbike but secure and plentiful. Dinner was expensive but delicious and breakfast great

The windows at the front could only be raised a little, which made it quite stuffy in the room.

The hotel is in a perfect spot, close to the boat to Dover. There is a beautiful backyard where you can sit. Parking is perfectly arranged on site. There is also a park-ride just next door where you can park for a small fee and catch the bus to Cambridge. The breakfast exceeded our expectations.

I have no complaints about my stay at the Black Horse Inn

This was my 2nd stay at the Black Horse Inn. I was so impressed on my first visit when I found out I was working in the area again it was my first choice. Excellent accommodation and facilities. Dinner at the inn was first class. Outstanding food and such an attentive waiting team. I look forward to visiting again.

Unfortunately no milk on the tea and coffee tray which we only realised at 5am.when we were desperate for a cup of tea before we left!

The room was more spacious than expected and the staff friendly and helpful (although we literally only slept there). Bed was really comfy which is unusual in my recent experience .

Shower in Bath a nightmare for mature people to negotiate without fear of falling plus only 1 hook for towels and clean clothes ...no grab handles leaves you trying to use the glass hinged shower curtain as a a support ...the old shower barely adequate

Superb Ambience...wonderful feel of older times coupled to modern facilities

For some reason, people with dogs are expected to eat in a different room, which was odd for a pub. I was allowed to eat in the bar, but this was not advised first. Also unable to take my dog to the breakfast buffet which was irritating.

It is a nice place and the food is good. Lovely cider. The rooms, which are purpose-built and outside of the main building, each with private access and parking close by, are excellent. The owner is a very nice helpful man. One can walk up a short lane and hill behind the pub to see castle remains, fantastic views and access to the adjacent country park on the Downs.
