Only reason we didn’t give 10 out of 10 is the shower is missing a slip mat. We were sliding all over the place. For older folks it really is a small expense to bring stability. Also new owners took Steak pie off the menu and it was to die for.

Great location. Rooms fully refurbished from 5 years ago when we last stayed here last, very nice and comfortable.

annual car club event, after we had such a brilliant time in 2023, we just booked again for 2024, nothing has changed still utterly brilliant, a great evening meal for 32, stunning breakfasts, immaculate rooms, free and safe parking, but a special shout out to ALL of the staff who looked after us and out up with us, you all make the Woodside so good... The Woodside was an excellent place to stay and we had dinner that evening. The staff all very polite, helpful and cheerful. The atmosphere was great a brilliant place to stay.

Great location, room was lovely, breakfast excellent and a really good selection of beer. Although it was just an overnight pit stop on a long journey we were very impressed and would love to stay there for longer on a return visit.

I like an early night so ideally would have liked to be in a room away from the beer garden but the music was turned off at 10.30 so not too bad 😁

Unfortunately we stayed on one of the warmest days in Scotland this year. Our room was stifling. We had an electric fan but it didn’t negate the temperature issue. Hopefully an issue for south facing rooms only.

During our stay the room was remade every day and items replenished apart from our penultimate day, for some strange reason, we were missed. But having brought the matter to the staffs noticed we were straight away given fresh towels, replacement drink items etc for our room. Which was Ok, but to be honest it shouldn’t happen if the management kept their eye on the ball. Another minor thing was we pointed out on our arrival that one of the biggest curtain had unhooked on its main leader ring, which hampered its hanging correctly. This during our stay wasn’t corrected. The house keeping whilst daily visits did miss other small things like ensuring the wash basin was wiped, cushions at times were left on the floor, or back onto the bed dependant on which maid did the room, maybe carpet not hoovered as often as it could of been…… I have to point out these things were something we overlooked as we are easy going, but it is the reason I slightly marked down our top end scores…. If these matters are addressed then it would be 10/10 throughout, without a doubt, as these small things make the difference between good and excellent…..

It ticked the main requirements of good sized room, comfortable bed, good shower and bathroom facilities, very good breakfast, good evening meals, welcoming staff. Nice facilities in room for tea and coffee making, with daily replenished little treats and bottled waters. Accommodation in all comfortable and well positioned within most sightseeing venues. The Woodside is positioned on a reasonably busy road side,so some traffic noise is evident, but doesn’t really detract from the good points. The quality of the food produce was first class, supplied by a local farm store, the bacon, sausages, black pudding were some of the best I have sampled.

Black mold on bedroom window frames due to condensation. Needed a good clean and cobwebs removing.

I had to ask for help in getting our luggage upstairs since there was no elevator. No help was offered even though staff saw that they could help. We feel this was a small issue. We would stay again.

We liked the location and that a restaurant was on site. Breakfast was very good. We also had dinner there on the first night. Dinner was also very good. The room was spacious.
