The television didn't work. The light sensor on the stairs was disturbing- we removed the bulb overnight, as every time my dog moved, it went on ....! (we put the bulb back before we left!) There is a dog in the neighbouring house/garden who was let out frequently, and barked incessantly. Maybe, you could have a chat with the owners, as it is extremely difficult to sleep, when the dog is barking - and it's not a small dog - so has a very loud voice ...1

The room was lovely - other than the fact that the television did not work well. Despite Kelly's best efforts - it was unwatchable as it was pixilating, freezing, and buffering. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was as expected. But - the staff were wonderful! All of them. Particularly Kate. Nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive, efficient and very friendly. You have a real star there!!

Twisty stairs to rooms, narrow and challenging. Bathroom small.

Friendly, welcoming, caring staff. Good food, good selection for breakfast, traditional pub atmosphere, rooms with view over fields & decent size, beds comfy, very clean. Free WiFi. Quirky with local character. Good sense for hospitality

The bathroom needs a good clean as black mould, very off putting, overall cleanliness could be improved Was not impressed that we had to pay extra for the cooked breakfast option that information was not shared at the time of booking, states breakfast included. Would not have stayed here if we had known as it made the stay more expensive than others when comparing.

Room was very clean, really comfy bed and room 1 shower was very nice. Had a lovely meal recommend the chicken schnitzel which was served by super friendly staff. We didn't have full breakfast as left early as we were going to Goodwood but helped ourselves to the continental selection to have in our room. Would highly recommend.

Stairs to room not known about upfront. Hard to park and car scratched overnight. A lot of dogs barking as pet friendly lodging. Breakfast was lovely however the first loaf of bread was mouldy.

Breakfast was a little disappointing, knew it was 'continental' so should have had cold meats, cheeses etc and better quality croissants.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't like the first room we were shown to as it smelt of dogs and velus window wouldn't stay open. But staff soon accommodated in a different room which suited us better.

Could not make a drinkable cup of tea, despite re-filling kettle several times with fresh water, it still tasted chalky. Kettle needs descaling? Rather annoying. Also, only 1 biscuit despite there being 2 of us?!

We would have liked a cooked breakfast, we knew there wasn't one when we booked so can't complain. The buffet breakfast was well stock with plenty of choice.

The pub seems to be situated in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fields, I found it quite picturesque. we had a quick check in and shown to our room. As it's an old building the rooms are a bit quirky as in, they are on a slant, but I found it ok. The staff and locals were friendly and helpful.

Was beautiful, very cute pub which is quintessentially English. Rooms were clean, staff were lovely. We ate breakfast outside in the morning and it was lovely and peaceful.

The dinner we had after we had arrives was very tasty and enjoyable. Our room was "Quirky". The bed was comfy, and had a good night's sleep. Couple of down points were that the toilet seat was very loose, and the shower head wouldn't sit firmly in the holder. The bathroom floor sloped from the door down to the bath, They were easy things to overcome. We enjoyed the experience

Stayed in the family room. Loved the warm welcome from the staff even though the pub was busy. The joining rooms met all of our requirements on our stop over on the way to Goodwood Festival of Speed. The fact we was able to grab a continental breakfast at 5.30 in the morning, as everything was already laid out, was a bonus.

Staff made me very welcome. The room was clean and delightful. Wonderful en suite with waterfall shower. Completely silent at night and with the comfortable bed I slept right through
