Location was central to various attractions 2 minutes walk to York Minster, a few minutes walk to museum and river cruise, lots of different types of places to eat fairly close to train station

Unable to put heating on, was cold and wet after being caught in rainstorm. Husband could not get gas fire or radiator in room to work.

Room was a little dated but perfectly clean and a decent size. Breakfast was very nice 👍 location was brilliant, a minute or two from York minster.

We had to ask for towels on first night of stay and they weren’t immediately available but were delivered in 20 mins all good.

Staff were fabulous. Mattress was comfy and great night sleep. Breakfast was great too and they very kindly accommodated us for a slightly late breakfast due to clashing commitments.

Had to keep the window open to stay cool and the traffic and pedestrian noise was quite loud at all hours.

Close to Yorkminster and several restaurants. The staff were quite helpful in helping us store our bikes and providing a breakfast outside their normal hours.

Honestly it was exactly what I wanted and expected. I try to avoid chain hotels that are the same wherever you are. Unique places are for me!

Staff is excellent. Friendly, welcoming and just plain nice. Location is ideal…directly across from the High Petergate into the old town and right next door to the York Art Gallery. Tons of restraints of all kinds all around. If you like Indian food 2 excellent ones less than 20m away. Easy walk from the train station…maybe 10 minutes and relatively flat with literally 2 turns. The room is well appointed and very comfortable. Bed was excellent…slept great! Towels are huge and soft! Breakfast was included in my stay and was delicious. Served 9-10 am which may cramp you early risers style. There is a coffee shop across the street if you need it and a Sainsbury less than 100m as well. Keep in mind…there is no lift so you’ll have to climb stairs to your room and there is no air conditioning (not that you need it in York except a few days per year. My room (#5) had a wonderful cross breeze between two windows and at night I had to close them. Shower a bit tricky for hot water but once you get it, it’s a great shower by UK standards! Also…it didn’t bother me at all but they do have Karaoke on Friday nights in the pub ( which is a proper pub) until about 11 and sometimes live music. Some may not like the volume, but it really wasn’t that bad (some of the singers were 😂). Just a heads up

The wonderful welcome when we arrived. We were earlier than we stated. This was no problem and we were shown to our room straight away. Size of the room. The big bath. Friendly staff. The amazing breakfast that filled you for the day. The whole stay was great

The staff were great and made us feel really welcome and the breakfast was lovely! The location was brilliant too. The room was a good size and very clean.

Breakfast was cold, so we had toast & cereal for the rest of our stay. Bar area where we ate was also cold. We were expecting them to do evening meal but they used to & had stopped serving. Cocktails were advertised in the bar but they were no longer doing them.

The beds weren't the most comfortable and I'm afraid my sleep here wasn't the best.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, and provided a wonderful breakfast. The location was great for just walking right into the city and enjoying it all.
