I booked to stay in a pub, it was a pub but closed during lock down therfore it became bed only. Also it is on quite a busy road wihc means noise.

The location was the main pluss and a helpfull and friendly single staff member

It's a shame that the pub wasn't open, but as rooms only, was excellent.

The friendly welcome. The size of the room and location.

Although the property looks very drab from the front, on entering the welcome by Tia was lovely. She went out of her way to explain everything with a smile and left us all the details we needed for our stay. The room was comfortable and clean, exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay. Although we were at the front of the property on the busy main road earplugs we're provided although we found we didn't need them. I would use the property again for a short stay

Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed and have been since the pandemic which i was not aware of. I like staying in pub/restaurant hotels and always look for these. I was not happy to leaving the hotel to get a drink and something to eat, especially as it rained on my return!

The room was very clean and spacious and the wi fi was good. The person I dealt with was very friendly and helpful.

The pub was not fully open which we were not worried about, this due to the fact we were only wanting accommodation. The young lady who greeted us was very nice and gave us a warm welcome for what we required on this trip excellent. Will go and stay again when It's fully open.

It was unfortunate that there was no food available, so we had to go down the road for breakfast and other meals. This was not really a problem, as there were eateries quite close. The front of the property looked very sad

The location was excellent for our visit. The room was pleasant and the bathroom facilities were good. The double galzing meant we were not troubled by the traffic noise.

The busy road might concern some people but I found it fine. The pub was currently shut which was a shame but then it was nice and quiet on the plus side !

The price was attractive for the area and the purpose I needed to stay in Wilton . Very clean and lovely room I had, that was shown to me by a very helpful and professional Tia . I arrived a bit late but she was exceptionally understanding thank goodness. Easy self check out and great central location to the town .

We were slightly disappointed that the pub side wasn't open so we couldn't get food and drink on site, but we were told of all the local places we could visit, all within walking distance, so it worked out just fine.

Location was great, very close to where we were visiting, the room was fabulous and very clean.

I was greeted warmly on arrival by Tia who kindly helped me carry my luggage to the room. The room and the bed were extremely comfortable and clean. A tray which included the means to make tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus two delicious biscuits was available. The bathroom was clean and the shower efficient. Shops and coffee shops within easy walking distance. I’m glad I chose The Wheatsheaf

Slightly noisy during the evening due to its proximity to the road, but this has been compensated by pair of ear buds found in the room.

Charming old building, good room size and a very comfortable double bed. It was a really good one night stay and thanks to Tia, our host, for looking after us.

The plumbing was a touch noisy but that was to be expected due to aforementioned pending renovations.

I was told the Inn was soon to start renovation so did not expect 'The Ritz'. Also I was pleased there was to be no breakfast as I was in the town to attend a huge lunch!

Stay without any option for food is reflected in room price

owner met us at door. room very clean, bed comfortable. room situated on roadside which we thought may disturb us, but it didn’t. pub not open, so room only but we had a nice walk into Wilton for food. we stopped overnight here en route to Cornwall and it was perfect for what we needed

We knew in advance that the building is right on a busy A-road. The host provided ear plugs in the room, although we did not need to use them and slept pretty well. I suppose if you're sensitive to noise at night, you'd probably choose somewhere else to stay.

Very welcoming reception, shown personally to room, which was very clean and comfortable for our one-night stay. Few minutes easy walk into Wilton.

The information that the pub was shut wasn't highlighted on the booking screen. I had to trawl back through the covid update on the site and it was pretty well hidden. The upshot was that we needed to get food elsewhere. There are some amazing pubs a short walk away so it wasn't that big an issue but it's not like having food on-site.

The owner was very friendly. She helped us find a place to eat. The room was very comfortable, very clean. There is a bit of road noise from the road but you get used to it and it drops overnight. We will definitely stay again if the pub reopens next time we are passing.
