Excellent location for Buxton opera house. Very clean comfortable accommodation. Good value for money, breakfast very nice. Would highly recommend

The bedroom and bathroom. Very basic, dated. There is no dressing table or a shelf to do hair and makeup. Light over sink was dim and kept turning off. No shower gel provided. No one cleaned/tidied the room. I don't expect to pay to stay in a hotel and make my bed or tidy the bathroom. Our party was shocked to see at breakfast on both mornings a male appear in the breakfast room helping himself to breakfast, shoeless, looking like he'd slept in his clothes in some shop doorway, only to be informed he was part of the MANAGEMENT.

Location is the best to be had in Buxton,the service,friendliness and welcome excellent.The room was good value and couldn't fault it.Would be glad to stay in the future.

TV didn't work. Maybe it was a problem with the double socket itself as the phone charger didn't work from the other socket either. Not a major problem for us as we were out much if the time. I forgot to mention this to Paul.

Spacious room, clean and warm. Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast. Pleasant staff; Sharon was especially happy and helpful at breakfast. Good setting and lovely view from the room, overlooking the lake. As a group of no longer young walkers we were all very pleased with the stay.

Location excellent hotel immaculate very clean breakfast was very good hot and tasty We are in our late seventies in room on third floor no lift and room so small it was single room with twin beds bathroom you could just enter but so small you couldn't turn around in room 12 needs to be for one person

Nothing Really It's just looking a bit tired so in need of a bit of a face lift? That is not to say it was not clean and well kept,because it was, just a bit old and dated in its looks

There was not a lot to dislike.

The location of the hotel was ideal. It overlooked the park and was a short walk to the main high street and restaurants. The breakfast was very good with a choice of cereal, fruit juice, fruit, and a very well cooked english breakfast to your liking. The room was well cleaned and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

As the room was small, there was not enough space for a more comfortable chair, and the toilet roll holder was strangely located behind where you sit! The television had the strangest programme map, unlike any I've seen.

The hotel is wonderfully placed right next to a beautiful park, and only a 10 minute walk from the town centre. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. A good full English breakfast was cooked to order.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was lovely and the lady serving was very hospitable. Bed was very comfortable.

The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, although the bedding was soft and fresh.

Location was excellent, 5 minutes walk into town. Opposite The Pavillion Gardens which is a large park with a lake. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and cooked fresh.

The male host (manager?) lacked people skills and was very unwelcoming when using the bell to ask for a new kettle (that had an electrical fault and smelt of burning, visibly hot to the touch). However new kettle was quickly, though reluctantly, provided. Hotel is clearly an old building, so lots of stairs (no lift) and walls very thin so we were awoken by next door alarm clock at 7am. Our room also was the fire escape… not sure how comfortable the stay would’ve been with others running through in an emergency.

Room was clean, lovely location over looking the park at the front of the property. Sharon (server at breakfast) was absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for you, particularly making considerations for Gluten free breakfast. The female host (manager?) who greeted us was very welcoming and bubbly.

The decor felt a little tired and dated, but this was easy to overlook given the location of the property.

The property was in a superb location, right in the middle of the Spa Gardens and within easy reach of the town. It has off street parking which is a real bonus. The room was spacious.
