No evening meals and bar is currently only open a few days per week. Would be good to have bar/meals available - I was aware of this before booking. Food available 10 minutes drive.

Kettle was iffy with the on and off, but after a few clicks it behaved itself. Had to check in through the main bar of the pub, with clients at the bar which was off putting and felt like I was intruding on their evening

The bed was sooooooooooooooooo comfortable - like being in a marshmellow! Room was small but comfortable and clean and well maintained Well stocked with tea coffee chocolate biscuits etcs Shower was across the landing but was a personal shower with my own key, not shared. It just wasnt in the room with me but there was a clean w/c and basin in the room which was completely fine with toiletries in there too.

This isn’t a dislike, just a note for those looking for amenities on the doorstep. For connection to Edinburgh and Glasgow the location is great. The village itself is only small, offering a Morrisons local/post office. The village pub is only open weekends, with the nearest restaurant being a drive away.

Friendly and accommodating host. Cosy room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. Have to comment on the lovely fresh smelling towels. Good selection of fruits, cereals, yogurts and pastries on the continental breakfast.

Note: Shower facilities are shared with the other rooms (two shower rooms between the three bedrooms) - not a problem when we were there as we were the only guests!

The whole facility is newly refurbished, with nice decor and a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was very nice, and overall it was great value. The host was very welcoming and happy to deal with our dietary needs.

It has newly reopened so catering on site was limited, but that will improve as they get fully open. Car parking is a bit limited on site, but there is parking around the green opposite. The room has en suite loo and washbasin, but the shower is not en suite which is a bit inconvenient.

There was no warning about the lack of evening meal, so I had to drive 15 mins to a takeaway then eat in my room. Also, and I know it was needs must etc, but I ended up sharing the breakfast table with another couple, and whilst I know it couldn't be helped, it was just a little weird being as I didn't know them (but they were lovely).

Room was great, owner was behind the bar and showed me to my room, she was very helpful and friendly. Bathroom was nice and modern. Nice bar area, although apparently the restaurant side was being refurbished, so there were no meals or food being served.

Location is quite rural but you'd know that when booking. About forty minutes to Edinburgh. Staff were lovely and helpful. The pub had a friendly atmosphere. Not a lot in the immediate area other than a shop but Lanark is about 10 mins away by car. Would stay again if I was that way.

No fault of host but other guests continually banged doors instead of closing them. I understand the need for the type of plumbing system, but it's noisy so if other guests are up early or late to bed this will wake you.

Host was welcoming, room clean and access to extras if needed in the hall which is good. Very dog friendly and my dog was able to be next to me during breakfast. Good choice for breakfast. Would stay again

No food available in the evening had to get a takeaway as local shop didn't cater for us. Noisy woken by patrons leaving public bar. Breakfast late and had to have in room standing up as cook had failed to turn up for work.

very clean breakfast good. Shower exceeded expectation. Worked well with the dogs. Breakfast late due to staff shortage. confusion with our room which had been given to someone else but was resolved quite quickly.
