Too long a questionnaire for a one night stay in a hotel.

Aircraft noise, but the hotel couldn’t do much about that!!

Breakfast was good and a wide choice. The staff were very helpful and cheerful.

In our case we cannot find fault, and have stayed a few times.

Well, if you could install a fire place in the pub that would be even better!

Some pub accommodation is in need of updating. The Swan had been very nicely updated, the single bed seemed to be a good size for a single, the room seemed quiet for a pub, and there were enough tea bags for drinks including my favourite Early Grey. I thought the continental breakfast (which included fruit, yoghurts, muffins etc) was good value.

On the first day the hot water for tea at breakfast wasn't very hot and the flask was dripping. This wasn't a problem on the second day. It would be better to have a fresh pot of tea straight from the kitchen made with boiling water.

Very attentive staff. Lovely room overlooking the church. Good food from a varied menu. Well restored old inn. Great beers.

Took an hour for someone to take our food order, and even then, we had to go to the bar to get someone's attention. Lots of cobwebs in the bedroom.

My husband was disappointed that there was no Abbott in the bar as this is one of his favourites It is a little noisy because of the planes - but we slept well

The hotel is close to Stansted Airport which is why we picked it. Lots of parking. Varied menu - and a good Sunday dinner available late into the afternoon / evening. Comfortable bed

The room was fine, comfortable with usual facilities. We only had breakfast which was buffet style and in addition cooked items. I had ample choice and well cooked.

Rooms a little small which meant the bed was very small. Bed itself was very comfortable, albeit exceptionally high. No mini fridge in the room which would have been good for fresh milk for tea making facilities.

Rooms tastefully decorated. Bathroom well set out. Quiet location and heating worked great.

Very small car park. Be aware of the church bells striking on the hour from across the road.

Would be nice have a proper coffee for breakfast ie espresso or similar rather than a pot of filter coffee.

The room was too hot but a fan had been provided and I don't believe there was anything else they could have done to cool the room down

From checking in the staff were so friendly and helpful couldn't do enough for you.such a beautiful place in a beautiful village .Great breakfast great room very comfortable bed .shower and bathroom were fab .bed very comfy.had everything you need .a cooling fan as it was very hot weather so that was very handy.i really can't fault this hotel a d will be very happy to.return and recommend it to friends .we stayed in room 7

Lovely position opposite church. We did prefer being in the older part of the hotel during our first stay. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. The breakfasts were exceptional. My husband loved the beer. Very nice service. We are now resident in France and returning to UK we are very often disappointed with the standards in hotels/restaurants here. Greene King have a winning concept along with great staff to provide the best of British!

Difficult to criticise or find fault. Staff at this hotel are so friendly and helpful, and the big plus is they seem to always be in attendance.

We do keep returning to this hotel because we enjoy our stays here so much.. Have stayed at other hotels in region, some are very good but have to say The Swan would be our first choice everytime.
