Literally the only thing I had a moan about was the potholes on the tiny lanes once turned off main roads, which has nothing to do with the pub and can be forgiven for the views on the way through

We visited after a recommendation and heard about the location. It did not disappoint. We plan to go back in the nicer weather and explore as it is set in a beautiful area, so much so got on to googling houses for sale nearby.. We can all but dream. Ate downstairs (food was amazing) and relaxed for drinks until closing. The pub had such a warm and welcoming feeling and everyone was polite. Had a comfortable night's sleep and no issues come to mind. Breakfast in the morning was also faultless. Have already repaid the favour of a friend and continued to recommend. Only a 9 because no-ones perfect

Service was a little slow , but probably due to lack of staff . Also the pub dog, escaped into the dining area & ate guests food , not a pleasant experience for them

Not the fault of the property, but the access road was horrendous to drive up-uneven, rocky & full of giant potholes. Unfortunately this has put me off booking again.

The staff were all lovely. The room was comfortable & warm. The food (dinner & breakfast) was delicious. Stunning views around the area.

Like a fool, I managed to overshoot the pub and had sat nav taking me down a dirt track behind the place. If you find yourself going that way don't, it'll knacker your suspension and cover your car in mud. When I found my way back to the hotel I could see its name written in massive letters which only an idiot could miss. I was that idiot.

A fine room above a lovely pub. Nice remote location, if you like remote.

Loved this property, it was tucked out of the way had loads of history yet was modern enough to meet my needs. I managed to meet some of the locals and the landlord who are fantastic characters, they were very thoughtful and run the accommodation to perfection, my room was comfortable, I slept so well, with lovely views and it was so quiet. For the next morning’s start I was treated to a tasty vegan breakfast. The accommodation is in a beautiful setting, has good food, fantastic company and is dog friendly, it’s also across the road from Entwistle train station, but I didn’t actually hear any trains the whole time I was there! I don’t think you could ask for any more.

Highly recommended, Staff and owner are fantastic, the pub is cosy, comfortable and welcoming. The food is 5*, lovely surroundings for a walk. Don't hesitate, just book it, you won't be disappointed.
