Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot as close to the station as expected, and the walk from the station to hotel reception did not feel completely safe to a woman on her own. Hotel demanded a £50 deposit, to be returned only after the room was cleaned, which was not advertised in booking details. To be fair, they did return my deposit promptly. The room smelt faintly of old cigarette smoke.
Convenient for Birmingham Airport. Staff helpful and polite.

United KingdomCheck me in to a dirty room but then changed the room when I complained. But it can happen. Theres very small hand soap, and v tiny shower gel bottle. No Iron in the room. But still in that price I would say its fine. Main issue: Issue with deposit refund. The receptionist said its a bank transaction and the deposit will be refunded as soon as I check out. It took 3 days, so many emails and calls to get the deposit back.
It was fine. Rooms were clean.

United KingdomOverall really liked the value it provided and staff were nice, it'll be great for the following: Improvements needed: - Way too hot or insulated especially during this September. Windows don't open too much and only one opens. - Bed way too springy, can feel the spring, sleeping on top of duvet felt better especially with the hot weather and to not feel the spring. Does flipping bed make it feel better? Smaller improvement: - Bad design with the toilet roll handle being behind you when sitting on the toilet making it uncomfortable to grab. Toilet being turned 90 degrees would've been better of a design as it's also easier to access the sink or can right now simply install the toilet handle - No bathroom door lock especially needed for rooms that have multiple occupants. -- Other than that, if I'd have to pick again, I'd go with this again as its still value for money and great staff, but these changes wouldve greatly improved the stay, especially with regards to fixing the indoor heat.
Ultimately really good for its price, very clean too. Good security, also provided towels and soap, has a good shower and a useful bathroom fan.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable The room could have been a bit cleaner Noises from adjacent rooms could be heard very clearly! No tea or coffee in the room.. we had to pay for coffees to take away in the morning
The staff were friendly. The pub was busy but pleasant and it was also really nice that we were there on a Caribbean night and there was really nice food available in the beer garden What was also nice was that we couldn’t hear the pub music from our room (the music itself was loud but good)

United KingdomIt was so hot due to unseasonably warm weather but this wasn’t in their control - obviously some form of air conditioning would have been very welcome BUT for what value we had for our rate it’s totally understandable that this would mean an up in the price bracket.
Really friendly staff; very down to Earth. Fab location being so close to the train station which made access to Villa Park and New Street very easy and manageable particularly as I have mobility issues.
