We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

CanadaI rented two rooms. Plumbing needs attention. There was no hot water or unreliable hot water in the one room and the water was a trickle. The toilet seat in the other room was held on by aging double sided tape. You have to ask for toilet paper and soap. Otherwise th4e place is clean and a lovely location. It would be helpful to get a list of parking options and instructions on how to book parking before hand. I emailed the hotel before we arrived and did not get a response. Parking is an issue if you dont know the area. It's no big deal if you know what to do.
The location is great, breakfast excellent, staff are friendly and responsive. The restaurant food was solid. My meal reminded me of excellent home cooking.

United KingdomThe cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The floors were pretty dirty - bathroom dusty and bedroom had lots of bits and hair. The desk and bedside tables had dust, bits and crumbs. I wiped them down myself and the tissue was thick with grime.
The staff were the main attraction - they were super friendly and lovely.

United KingdomRooms very basic and not as clean overall. Need redecorating. Kettle area and TV not clean. Not surprising when there are so few staff. The shower had no power whatsoever. The Company who own this hotel need to invest some money in it in redecoration, modernisation, and also staff.
Despite a mix up about the sea view twin room booked the receptionist sorted a difficult situation after our room was changed by another employee. The room and the corridors are very tired and desperately in need of refurbishment. The beds were clean and the mattress was comfortable. The pillows less so. The service from the staff there...and there weren't many which is dreadful considering there are 87 rooms. The same staff were run ragged between reception and the bar area, but they were exceptional staff.

New ZealandOverall maintenance has been neglected in recent years. Paintwork was chipped and carpets worn. Multiple internal stairs between floor tiers is a hazard. Breakfasts were decidedly average, with limited food selections.

United KingdomDue to an ankle injury I requested a room on the first floor as the lift was broken.I was then told the lift had been mended.On arrival we were told our allocated room had flooded and we had been moved to the top floor,but the lift broken again!!!!The lift in the bar area was working ,but were was the second lift????Access from the garage entrance very poor.

United KingdomThe room was so small for a couple top floor, small window, was quite dark. Have seen pictures from single traveller's similar room. We had been sent message from booking company that we could upgrade before we went. I rang the hotel and told in unfriendly manner by staff member and was told could not upgrade, but was still messages after telephone call that could upgrade from booking company. We would stay again if room was different.
The location near the town. Train station very close. The beach just across the road. Clean towels, sheets, clean bathroom. Staff friendly.

United KingdomThe room was good sized with lovely view of the beach however unfortunately the bathroom wasn’t clean and the bin wasn’t emptied and the room was not hoovered properly. The floor seemed to lean to one side so that was a bit weird like when you’re on a ship but not too annoying. The hotel is quite dated apart from the reception and the bar.
The location of the hotel is great, right by the beach and the train station if you need it. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade as well so had beautiful beach view.

The location is excellent, just across from a beautiful beach and a short walk to the centre of St. Ives. The lounge area was a nice place to sit and look out from. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
