Stairs to get in the front door. Narrow and heavy doors to get in. No help from the first member of staff we encountered. The second guy did try to help but we had it sorted by then. The first receptionist told us there wasn’t disabled access except via a fire door he couldn’t open. This wasn’t explained on Booking.com. Luckily I was having a good day and was able to negotiate the stairs but it caused severe pain and affected my trip a lot. It is the only thing that would put me off returning.

The location is spot on! We were upgraded to a harbour view room which was beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful. Bed comfy. Bathroom spacious and clean. Shower excellent.

We can't think of anything we didn't like. Only slight negative was that some of the shower jets must have been blocked as you had to move around a bit to get a full stream of water, but not a big problem.

Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. An excellent choice of food at breakfast, happy to adapt the full English to whatever you asked for. We had a lovely big room at the front overlooking the harbour, with a perfect view of the Spinnaker Tower and HMS Warrior. Perfect walking distance to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Old Portsmouth, shops and restaurants.

There wasn’t much choice for breakfast if you didn’t wasn’t full English. Also no water in the room, but to be fair a bottle of water was given as soon as requested. Basic quality toiletries for a premium room was a shame.

We were upgraded to the King Superior room which was fantastic at no extra cost . It was overlooking the harbour and had lots of space in the room and also an amazing bathroom and shower . The breakfasts were great with all tastes catered for

Little bits needed attention, painting in the room, shower hard to operate and a chair (small one) would have been helpful.

The only thing I can complain about was the pillows were very flat and our room was very warm.

My room was very warm, and it seemed as though this was a known factor considering the availability of a desk fan. I had the window open most of the time to get any sort of air flow into the room

The rooms were fine and do what it says on the tin but not utterly beautiful. We had a great view but decor could be better. Having said that I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel, in a fantastic location, only a short walk to the station, ferry port and some wonderful bars and restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel was charming and made us feel like we were on a proper holiday. The free parking was a godsend and the open air car park behind was very reasonably price for 24 hours. Breakfast was very tasty. There is a night porter so there is no issue with coming and going as you please.
