The hotel is located within walking distance of all the major sights of the city. It is also within walking distance of the bus, which was great, as I was in the city to attend a conference at the University of Lancaster. The staff were super and assisted in every question we had and sorted out every challenge we experienced. My fiancé also says that she loved the hotels old fashioned lift.

Easy pre-check in. No issue with bringing my bike into my room after riding all day. Reception were able to quickly arrange a gift for my wife on our anniversary.

My room was a little sad. A hole in the ceiling where a light fitting should have been. No bulb in the bedside lamp. The cleaning was not up to expectations. Wasn’t informed that you had to put a notice on the door handle for cleaning the room. Had to get the notice from reception. Had to ask for a heater as there was no heating in the room.(The radiator was never turned on)

Loved the dining room. Breakfast was wonderful. The evening meals were so very good The staff were absolutely amazing. They really can’t do enough for you. I would stay here again.

Resistors on the windows stopped us from opening our windows fully to enjoy the stunning views.

The hotel was in a central location, the staff were lovely and the room was really nice. The food and service was very good and breakfast was exceptional. I recommend this hotel and will return to it in the near future.

No dislikes really, just a very warm room n no ventilation as window didn’t open much n traffic noisey but noise didn’t bother us as we are used to traffic noise

I need to park my car at a public car park. It was unexpected. I didn't take breakfast at hotel due to the cost (extra £14.95 per person). If I know there is no parking area, I think we will not book them.

Lack of air conditioning. Granted - it's Lancaster we don't get a lot of hot days but unfortunately this particular stay it was extremely warm and I didn't sleep well, even with the fan on all night and window open (traffic noise was not great)

Gorgeous hotel with absolutely lovely staff. Always a pleasure to stay. Really comfy beds. Right in the middle of town.

The fact that the booking had been scammed, either at the hotel or booking.com. A WhatsApp message came to me asking for my credit card details. I complained to the hotel and booking.com but received neither explanation or apology. I have informed the police.

Corridors are noisy, you can hear everyone walking by very clearly - single beds are still a shock in hotel rooms!

lovely restaurant, friendly and helpful staff - specifically Chelsea on the front desk. We have a lot of people who travel with work and this location hadn't been used before - I have now recommended that we use The Royal Kings Arms as a preferred choice

The lift requires the door to be closed to operate, which frequently some do not do. In this day and age the lift should be automated.

No private car park. (Although there is a public car park 2/3 minutes away that allow 24h parking. There were signs of mould on the bathroom ceiling.

Our only disappointment was that the dinning room wasn't open on the two evenings we were there which meant we had to go out for dinner.

The staff were really lovely. The hotel itself was spacious and comfortable.
