Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe stairs were a bit steep but it was not a big challange as did not have big suit cases.
Its a well run hotel and has all the qualities of a good mansion type hotel. The staff were very helpful and easy to talk to. Room was perfect for a over night stay at a good price.

United KingdomThe en-suite shower door had been replaced by a curtain, not ideal. My room was not serviced and although it is not the fault of the hotel the boy racers with loud exhausts were a noise nuisance. MAybe the hotel should liaise with the Elgin police to get them stopped.
The breakfast was good despite no vegetarian option, the scrambled eggs were perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful which was nice to see. The room I stayed in was a decent size.

United KingdomChecked in and was given the keys for room 16, climbed to the top floor, opened the door to find that someone was already occupying the room with empty beer bottles and clothes all over the floor. Back downstairs to a rather embarassed staff member, not as embarrassed as I would’ve been had the occupants been in the room when I walked in. Then moved to room 17. The main bedroom was modern and clean. The bathroom looked looked it had a new shower enclosure fitted but had a very old electric shower unit in it. The bathroom walls and ceiling around the toilet and window area were cracked and crumbling. Put off by the previous evening’s events and the condition of the bathroom, we skipped breakfast and went elsewhere to eat. I always like to give honest reviews and thought that this was very over priced for what was on offer.

United KingdomRoom 10 very basic with 2 single beds pushed together not double as booked. Shower was tiny and didnt work well at all. Toilet seat kept falling off. Floors creaked and being only on 1st floor the noise from party downstairs was excessive. Kept us awake
the staff were excellent and friendly doing their best. No issues with parking or location. Plenty tra/coffee in the room. Wi fi good.
