What’s not to like at a hotel at this price.

Great value for money and truly dog friendly. Food was top value, on a Wednesday beautiful home made Lamb/mint Pie and veg. plus pint for £13.50 …delicious! Staff, well they couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, deffo one of this hotel’s main assets, very clean room , warm and comfy and rounded off with a great tasty breakfast selection before you head off.

Parking has some abandoned looking cars in it and parking is on the small size any way. It is round the back so out of view. Rooms are basic and overall clean. Really could do with a lick of paint and fresh carpet as a funny damp smell as you come through the doors on the stairs. Place has age, it needs some loving in areas. Road noise can be heard but you are by two main roads and windows only single paned so expected.

Lady behind the bar and who greeted you was lovely. Very friendly, professional and hard working. She looked like she was actually doing the job of three people. She ran the bar, she saw to your room and she was waitress. Th food was good and worth the money. Lights in the bar and restaurants make the place look pretty and a nice atmosphere. Rooms are basic but clean. Bar area, chairs were clean and lots of care was given by staff. Don’t know ladies name but very hard working, nothing to much trouble. Asset to the hotel and pay rise needed as doing the job of three people.

My room was just okay. But the bed was uncomfortable and the carpet in my room was wet. Like I said overall okay.

The tap in the bathroom sink was broken and felt like it was going to come away when you used it. The heating didn't come on in the evening so it was very cold. The second night it worked. Not pleasant.

Ensuite bathroom was ridiculously small, had no hot water in one of our rooms which I sorted but TBF to Hotel, a partial refund was granted without any fuss.

location, not much to do in the area. Floor tiles in the bathroom not grouted! It was so cold in bedroom I slept in my jumper and leggings. carpet on stairs and communal areas require a good clean very dirty.

The turning for the hotel entrance is a little confusing, but the Satnav sorted us out! (It's a very sharp turning). Breakfast wasn't the best we have had, but perfectly acceptable for all that!

We booked this hotel as we were returning from France into Portsmouth. We didn't fancy the drive on the night (we were delayed and didn't disembark until 8pm and so were glad of our decision). The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was reasonable-sized, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was open, and we fed well. Despite the proximity to main roads, the room was quiet and we slept well.

Absolutely not the fault of the hotel, but we spent a wasted day in Fareham because some idiot blocked our car in, the morning we should have left. Not a hotel guest, four young men parked there to get a lift to work somewhere else, and didn't come back until 4pm. Tip for future guests: don:t park on the short access road in front of the hotel. Or if you do, don't leave any space behind for someone to block you in.

Friendly if basic local pub B&B. Breakfast was fine, over generous if anything. Location handy for us as an overnight stop after a late ferry crossing. Staff were brilliant and tried their very best to help when we had our little parking problem (see below).

Bed was massive but lacked quality. Bottoms out and springs can be felt. No shower gels so bring your own.

Staff are absolutely wonderful Great position for taking a trip into Portsmouth for Uni or ferry. Dogs allowed which means we'll be back.

I previously stayed in room 2, it was noisy next to the road, double glazing could be improved, room 10 was fine
