The garden bit itself could have been tidier and cleaner, i.e., table was gritty planting overgrown Putting pepper on the breakfast is a no-no, before the guest And no restaurant in the evening.

The only downside for me was that the hotel could do with a little touching up. A few tiles missing in the bathroom. The garden was a bit overgrown and the furniture a little tatty. But that’s only if I was being really picky.

Great location easy reach to centre of Rye, Staff were all really friendly and the room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Had a garden room which was nice to have a private outdoor space. The free breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and great quality food and super friendly staff. Plenty of guest parking so no worries there.

One of the first things we noticed was some hair on the pillow, the walls weren’t clean, and we both had a very bad night sleep as the bed is smaller than a normal hotel size and was bouncy (without any memory foam). I would have appreciated some extra bedding or blankets as was contemplating sleeping on the floor.

Loved that breakfast was included, it had clearly been refurbished recently, the room itself was a large size, staff were friendly, and it is a great location, 5 mins from cute shops/cafes and near the walk to the camber castle

The car park and entrance was “scruffy” and gave a very poor first impression. Whilst the room was comfortable the overall impression is of a tired hotel that needs updating

Room a tad noisy due to the cars on the road outside

Breakfast was good - I had the eggs Benedict both days which was lovely and a nice bonus to have it included in the price of the room

I had a downstairs room and the window did not have a safety catch to limit how far the window could open. I did not want to leave the window open, so the room was a little stuffy in the morning. Not a big thing.

It suited my needs very well.

Had booked room 3 and had it confirmed. However on arrival we were informed it was not available. On the plus side we were offered a room that was just as nice. We have booked an August stay in room 3 so we were not put off. We have been frequent visitors for many years.

Bed came with a memory foam mattress which we struggled to adapt to on our 2 night stay. This is obviously a very personal thing so just an observation. The bed also had a terrible squeak when you sat on it and the frame needed tightening up where the headboard joins it. It was okay when we laid down to sleep so we didn't report this until we checked out - the receptionist thanked us for reporting it. The restaurant is currently closed in the evenings (April/May). Not great on a Sunday night as there is not much open in town either. We were quite lucky to find a nice place to eat (Webbe's Fish Cafe) which we can recommend.

Room had everything that you would expect and a bit of a view. Bathroom had a opening window. Breakfast was good with decent cooked and continental choices. Friendly staff. Hotel quite convenient for Rye town - just a 5 minute walk over the river bridge. Availability of parking was a big plus. Not sure where you could park if staying in the centre of Rye as it is a very old town with narrow streets.
