Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDidn't like the breakfast - instant coffee, bananas and some sweet snacks. But it was included in the price - so better than nothing)
Nice quiet room, comfy bed. The location was good - not far from the city center. On-line check-in and check-out was a convenient option too. Good value for money.

United KingdomI had a single room on the top floor. It was rather warm up there. A small window opened, facing the road outside - so it was either let some air in, or keep the traffic noise out. No lift to reach the top floor, just a lot of stairs. The shared bathroom on my floor was shared between I think 2 rooms, so no queueing required! It was clean enough, except for the filthy skylight/velux window, which clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I really didn't like the OYO automated chatbot that was messaging me on Whatsapp. It was adamant that I would need to upload a scan of my ID before arrival. Of course, there is no legal requirement for a UK citizen to carry ID in the UK, nor for a UK citizen to provide ID to check into a UK hotel. I didn't upload any ID, and I was checked in to the hotel no problem, and not asked for ID at any time. The chatbot also doesn't recognise "STOP ALL", so I blocked it.
Good price for Bristol! Clean and well presented property. Comfortable enough for an overnight stop. The included continental breakfast was a nice touch.

United KingdomI emailed specifically to ask about parking and then received the same message four times exactly the same over about a four-day period including after my stay. Each time the message said the same thing that it was £10 and yes there were parking facilities on site. In truth there are literally three spaces and they were all booked up by a tenants. In one place when I did more research it said you must book and then elsewhere it says you can't book and it also said it was 15 pounds in the listing. The person on the front desk knew that they were booked but obviously it was some sort of Central call center pinging me the same message which was actually inaccurate. I also asked for a quiet room and was told on reception that because they didn't have a lift then all the rooms would be quiet but I was facing the front of the hotel and there was a bar outside on the other side of the road that was open till at least 11:30 and had about 50 or 60 people outside drinking. Wooden have been too bad but why won't we put on the other side of the hotel and also it is literally single glazed
Very convenient to get into town and pleasant staff

United KingdomAs listed building, no lift available. Having to walk up several steep flights of stairs with a knee injury to a room in the loft area was a bit of a struggle.
Good location, friendly staff and room was clean. Plenty of selection for continental style breakfast, would have been nice to have had a full English but kitchen currently under renovations, so not available.

United KingdomNo ground level rooms for disabled guests of which I am my daughter were. There was a night my daughter was unwell and cold and there was no heating available. Had to boil the kettle on the floor as no socket near the table.
The location was good for my last 2 stays but I wouldn't stay there unless I needed to be in that particular area.

United KingdomPossibly a contender for the worst breakfast in the world. We had been informed that there was a 'continental' breakfast, but this was just awful. Dry disgusting pain au chocolat individually wrapped in plastic, bananas that were well over ripe, no fresh milk, sickly sweet cereal bars and unappetising yoghurts that had been refrigerated at too low a temperature A shame because on that obviously meagre budget, it was still possible to serve something palatable.
Excellent location, very comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomGot the top floor which was difficult as I was lugging my case up. The floors and room doors were creaky and I felt bad for other people staying as I was an 11pm check in and I made a bit of racket.
I booked the room at a very good price and it was cheap to connect from temple meads station with a very short walk both entering and leaving hotel. Staff member was very helpful checking me in.

United KingdomI'm not sure ours was the deluxe double we paid for as it was a small attic room. There were also over 40 steep stairs to climb to reach the room... not so great when you're almost 70! We found a used towel behind the bathroom door and 2 pots of yoghurt in a drawer, presumably from someone's 'breakfast bag". The complimentary breakfast was eaten in our room as there is nowhere else to eat it. The general appearance of the carpets and furniture was tired and shabby, but I understand there is a programme of improvement scheduled in the near future.
The bed was comfortable, and the towels and bedding were of good quality . The one member of staff we met was very helpful and pleasant . The hotel's location was good.

SingaporeThe walls are unfortunately very thin so makes it difficult with noises at night - not anyone's particular fault but it's something to be aware of if booking this place. Ultimately it's a great room for budget travel, and they do that well - travellers should always manage their own expectations about what is good value. And the noise aside, this place is good value.
Great location, I like that the breakfast is provided and it's very no fuss and can be picked up at 6am (important if you're on work travel!) Everything was working in the room. I like having a private room that doesn't cost a fortune.
