Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot sure if this was the property or booking.com but on arrival the room was set up as a double and I had booked a twin. This was changed but the property insisted they didn’t know we had booked a twin room.
The room was beautifully decorated and the beds very comfortable. We were told the rooms had recently been renovated and it as all done to an exceptionally high standard.

United KingdomWe had room 1 and it was stifling hot, there's no air conditioning, only an oscillating fan and the heating was on even though it was 22 degrees outside. We turned the radiator off and opened the large sash window but unfortunately the room is directly above the main road through Woodstock, so cars, buses and lorries coming past, very close, very noisy. The room remained hot, so we had to sleep with the window open, and the road noise was bad. It obviously died down overnight but started again very early. Air conditioning could be installed as there's two outside walls. It didn't spoil our stay, we'd stay there again but it would have been much better with a good nights sleep
Good location, lovely room, comfortable bed, good food in the restaurant, excellent location for visiting Blenheim Palace and wandering around Woodstock. Bathroom clean and tidy, no black silicon everywhere like a lot of hotels. the shower pressure is a bit limp but adequate. Parking at the rear, tight but ok, private entrance for guests was a nice touch as parking is a problem in the town. Great place for a wander, plenty of places to eat and Blenheim Palace is within walking distance.

United KingdomStayed during a local event so room rate was significantly inflated. Given that scenario, slightly surprised to pay additional amount on check-in for breakfast on site. No bottled water in room which would have been a nice touch given room rate although there was a 10% discount offer for food/drink in bar.
Location very convenient for walking around local village and tourist landmarks. Clean and comfortable room with good shower/bathroom facilities. Good food and drink options. Excellent breakfast. Parking onsite was available.

United KingdomWe had room 2 which faces the busy road so if you are a light sleeper, I recommend requesting a room at the back.
Ideally located for visiting Blenheim Palace, this traditional inn provides guests with everything they need. A family owned establishment who genuinely care about the comforts of their guests. A great pub menu (inc a lovely authentic Chicken and Spinach Balti) is available and the breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful too.

United KingdomMy only slight complaint is the carpark is very small and tight. But as Woodstock is an ancient place it is to be expected.
All staff were very helpful, I had a excellent cooked breakfast. Breakfast cost £12.50. I also dined in the evening at the inn and found the food to be good. I found the room very comfortable. The location for the Inn is very good, I had a little walk in woodstock during my stay and found it to be a very nice place. There is a small Co-op supermarket opposite the Inn.

United KingdomHad a front bedroom and no double glazing, had to have the window open and it was so noisy with traffic but if I stayed there again I would ask for a room that wasn’t in the front of the building

United KingdomParking could be a "pickle" unless you were Charming to the team, so , no problem for me :-) The rules about everything were very firmly reminded at every juncture, which is indicative of their previous encounters. The value added option of being given a room specific Thermos flask of fresh milk for the next morning`s early cup of tea was a touch of Pub class !!
The Punchbowl was a real find for a 2 night stay to visit Oxford as it was within easy reach of transport in. A good welcome and finding a FAB looking room was a great start, Apart from super customer service from the team and being in the delightful Woodstock village, I have to highlight that the food offer was exceptional !! from the simple Scampi option (that enticed me to eat the salad???) to the Absolutely Magnificent (at £12.50, it had better be) Breakfast, which was easily in my top 3 EVER !! OMG, you are in walking distance of the free part around Blenheim Palace lakes.....stunning. (Green gate)

United KingdomLiterally nothing to dislike
We LOVED this place. From the moment we parked up to being greeted by a smiley, helpful and welcoming chap, it was all amazing. The beautiful room topped it off (we had a King size room with a balcony). The wine served in the bar was delicious, as was our evening meal and breakfast. As for the location, it’s unbeatable. Can’t wait to return! Thank you Punchbowl Inn

United KingdomBeds were quite narrow if you are in a twin room and I am a slim woman. We had an odd experience in the bar in the evening and were sent up to are rooms at 10pm rather abruptly and in not the friendliest way. I understand staff want to go home but it could have been said in a kinda way rather than feeling shooed up to our rooms. Otherwise the staff were lovely and friendly through our other engagements with them.
