Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo staff member on site overnight, random people wondering around overnight. Very loud music until early hours, definitely a hen party or stag night option. Not really suitable for families
Very close to football stadium where we planned to go and not far from town centre and Largs for a trip with our dog

United KingdomThere was a smell in the room. It was a vinegary type smell which you could smell on approach to the room. I did mention this to the staff and was told they’d investigate it but the smell was still there. There was also evidence of the door being forced open previously and the frame was held together with screw nails.

United KingdomThe outside area at the front needing cleaned and painted especially the bin area as it's where cars park and give a poor imression which will let this place down and tgat's a shame because insides lovely. I think it's unfair for the extra £20 for an ensuit . For £79 for one night for two adults with no brakfast was a bit steap. Maybe a continental breakfast or offer of a light lunch when the bar opens would of been good. No chairs in the room so only beds to sit on.
The room was nice but basic, it was clean. The outdoors area was great. Staff nice especially the cleaner. Beds comfortable , newley decorated and new fitted shower which was great.. Very spacious family room for three. Plenty coffee / tea etc in the room. Bar looked nice .

Although the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent it’s not really a hotel but a pub with rooms. The rooms were somewhat needing some tlc. They were rather shabby and in need of a overhaul

United KingdomWalls were bare. No pictures or paintings or posters. It felt like a prison. There was no wordrobe in a room so I had to put my clothes on a chear. I understand the room is small and there is no much space for the wordrobe but than why charging so much? To make matters worse the TV in a room was basically dead. Fortunately I am not a TV addict so I don't care. However I had to use my phone and go on YouTube to lets say entertain myself. I came from London so didn't have to pay extra charges for using the internet on my phone. It would be a different story if I came from abroad.
The location is close to the centre and room is having a view on the main street which was nice enough,

United KingdomThere wasn’t a bedside light. Couldn’t use the shower as the over-the-bath shower head was FIXED too high up the wall and not adjustable, so the water shot straight out onto the floor at the end of the bath.
Breakfast was not available. The location was good.

United KingdomThe beds were a little uncomfortable as I could feel the mattress springs. Perhaps the room needs decorated.
There was no breakfast. The evening food was excellent as we had a pizza. The location was perfect as we cycled from Dumbarton To Rugby Park for charity, and the hotel was round the corner. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and they even found a safe place for our pedal bikes. Nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomI had no breakfast- l checked out at 8.30 am. I was given WiFi code but no name; code didn't work on available WiFis.l was freezing in the room, heater never came on. There was poo in the toilet, with lots of toilet tissue; l was unable to use the toilet. Shower door was broken, couldn't shut it while having my shower. Staff that checked me in was fantastic- carried my suitcase upstairs cos l just couldn't do it; she rallied round to get me something to eat cos the kitchen had closed before I was ready to eat. I'm sorry l couldn't get the lady's name. Another staff, Ben was brilliant, helped to recover my laptop charger and mouse which l had left behind, in my hurry to get to work. The hotel is accessible, in the city centre, price is reasonable, but they need to work on their facilities. Thanks.

United KingdomShould be noted that on Saturday nights the bar can be open until 1am. Expect to fall asleep to loud music. The two single beds were fine for a short stay, although one mattress could do with replacing as the springs could be felt quite prominently.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Checking-in and out was very easy. Giant beer garden at rear (had some great weather during my stay). Some parking at the front, but not much – fortunately there's an actual carpark on the opposite side of the road that is free at weekends.

United KingdomThe room layout was strange with the twin bed s in an L shape. There was nowhere to hang clothes and no mirror above the sink in the bathroom so shaving was a little awkward . Loud music in the bar till 1am at weekends which can be felt in the room. It was quiet week nights.
Location was perfect, right in centre of town and close to the park. Every single member of staff was friendly and very helpful. We had a twin room as it was the only one left so not ideal and would have preferred a double room. It was tired but very clean . There is a big family friendly beer garden where we ate some really tasty food and the prices of the food and drink is very reasonable. The bar and garden are busy all weekend.
