Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had a wonderful stay here. The Inn is surrounded by pretty English countryside, so quaint and exactly what you would want for a country escape. The room was decorated nicely, very clean, cosy and comfortable. The pub itself is lovely and rustic, breakfast delicious with lots of options (hot and cold) and staff very friendly. Thanks especially to Dennis who made sure we had a great stay. We had a problem with the shower in our room running water that was too hot and couldn’t be adjusted, and were moved to another room.

United KingdomI'd have to think extra hard to fill this box, so I'll go with extra coffee in the room, but that is not a dealbreaker at all!
I had a brilliant stay at The Plough. The team were lovely and the surroundings beautiful. It was quiet and I slept really well. The decor was really nice. I felt at home.

United KingdomWould happily have stayed longer so the only thing I didn’t like was the shortness of my visit.
Lovely choice for breakfast, served my favourite smashed avocado with poached egg. Evening meal was also very tasty, small menu but still a good variety, loved the vegetarian pie. Great, quiet location, extremely friendly, helpful staff. Would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful, quintessential English Inn.

United KingdomUnfortunately the room I stayed in had a really infuriating problem with its door. I had an early supper and wanted to get a good night’s sleep. I don’t know if the room was directly above the boiler room but the door started vibrating similar to the sound of a washing machine moving on a hard floor during a spin cycle! If you want against it the noise stopped but far too loud and irritating to be able to sleep. I ended up repacking my case and putting that against the door which worked. Presumably the heating went off later and it then stopped. Started again when I was getting ready for breakfast. I did mention t r he problem when I left. I Wouk. Have felt less irritated if an offer of even a small discount had been offered but this wasn’t the case. I hope they sorted the problem out swiftly as the room itself was fine and a great spot with good food. I had particularly chosen it for its peaceful location so this problem was somewhat ironic!
The breakfast was excellent. I also had dinner which was great. Good staff.

This was a very last minute trip with friends from Argentina who were visiting us and it worked soo well! The place is very cute, the restaurant was a great addition to have to finish a long day of hikings around Costwolds, our dog was not only well received but also treated like a king, with the staff bringing him treats and water all the time. Very nice rooms and comfortable beds. Lovely beer garden outside… all in all, the perfect place to stay. We will come back.

The property was beautiful - so warm and welcoming. The bar and restaurant were lovely and welcoming, and the room was so warm and comfortable (with the most amazing shower and expensive toiletries). But the best thing was the hospitality of Vincent and his team 😊 we had the best stay!

United KingdomI had a single room where the shower appeared to have no cold water. It was very hot. The television initially didn't work, but I eventually traced the problem to a dodgy plug. I mentioned this to the staff and they went above my expectations in resolving the matter.
A beautiful old inn, perfect for the Thames Path. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The bar area was cosy with good beers. The dinner was extremely good and well above good pub food. Breakfast was also delicious. I had some issues with my room, which were resolved above what I expected.

United KingdomMinor thing was that we were in a room right above the kitchen. This meant that there was quite a bit of door slamming in the evening and a noisy fan that ran all night
Beautiful old pub in a fantastic location with a lovely pub garden. We had both dinner and breakfast and the food and service were both fantastic! We traveled over with family to rent a boat for the day which I can also really recommend if you're looking for something to do

United KingdomDidn't like having to get up for my work and having less time over great breakfasts.
Location was great. I was staying there for work so didn't get the opportunity to explore. It's ideal of course for William Morris fans being situated in the Village of Kelmscott where Morris lived for a time at the Manor. Typical English pub. Comfortable, not pretentious and the locals were really friendly. My type of pub!
