In our room the chair needed fixing. Seat cushion had been worn down and made a dent in the seat . This is maintenance work and I'm sure if I had reported it, something would have been done. Would have been nice to have 2 chairs in the room instead of one. I was looking forward to using the spa facilities. I didn’t like the lay out of the spa area and I thought there was a Jacuzzi but there was only a pool. Which was nice enough to swim in but wasn’t very big . So even with 3 or 4 people in made it seem crowded. Only went in once . Spa’s should feel like a relaxing area, didn't work for me. Ok if you only want a quick swim .

I like the layout of the hotel and breakfast was exceptional , It was made to order and if there wasn't something on the menu you liked , the staff were happy to assist. We were on DBB and evening meals couldn’t fault any of them . Lovely meals and well presented. All staff very helpful and friendly. The garden and grounds were well maintained, lovely flowers and surroundings. There were chairs and lounges to sit out on when the weather was nice enough to do so . There was also a terrace area where you were able to sit out. Room was clean and tidy ,had all you needed . You were able to order a news paper daily. All staff at the hotel were very helpful and accommodating.

Nothing that the hotel can change. Parking restrictions in the area affect everything and everywhere you go. The elderly clientele did not stay up long enough to enjoy the entertainment which was a shame for the performers.

Bar service poor. Felt sorry for new bar man who was not given any training and left on his own to sort things.

Meal was rushed... no chance to enjoy the meal and relax. I didn't dare put my cutlery down for fear of the dish being swiped away from the table! No breathing space between courses! Also had to chase for someone to serve at the bar

Room 26. SMALL ROOM. Bed base frayed. Beds need replacing. Table lamp wobbly. We had the fan replaced, as it wasn't working. Furniture looking VERY TIRED. Kettle black inside (looked burnt) VERY HOT room. Tea tray not to the standard they USED to provide. CHEAP tea/coffee. NO drinking chocolate, and just packet of 3 biscuits. NO bottled water. Restaurant evening meal was AVERAGE (not very hot). Having to pay for tea/coffee after evening meal. Soap dispenser needed cleaning by sink!

Breakfast was ok. The items ordered, didn't arrive on one of the orders (3 items - 2 arrived) not rocket science. Staff friendly and efficient.

The parking was ok to a point, the few disabled bay where poorly marked main due rose bushes overgrown the signs, it was noticeable how some small cars had taken up the space of two, possible was of the lack of bay marking.

There was always ample food available at all times. I found the quality of the meals very good; may could have done with a couple extra choice on evening menu. Our room just what we order, direct clear view of the green and sea.

The hotel caters largely to an older clientele, but my children certainly still felt welcome. The dinner menu is on the pricier side if you’re not full board. I cannot comment on the leisure facilities as we did not get a chance to use them. (It wasn’t fully booked we were just too busy).

The Palace is extremely good value for money in terms of location and facilities. Cleanliness is top notch as is the standard of breakfast. Staff are incredibly lovely. The room itself was spacious and clean. The carpark perfectly suitable. The location itself, well it’s 20 yards to the beach, park, fair, pier and a 3 minute walk to the high street.

For the money we paid for three nights bed breakfast and evening meal for three of us i can't say anything bad at all. It was such good value for money!

Lovely rooms and comfy beds, food in the restaurant was cooked perfectly, and always a nice menu choice, Location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from the town and practically on the beach front, Very friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed a morning in the spa. Excellent value for money.

I would say the breakfast was not the best, must be the only hotel left where you can't help yourself to coffee at breakfast, The coffee they had was that nice, think they would be better having a buffet style breakfast where you could help yourself to what you wanted, without have to wait to have an order taken.

Had a really nice room with sea views, the staff were all so helpful nothing to much trouble. The hotel had lots of car parking spaces to park and free. As the hotel is on the sea front and just a short walk to the shops, no need to have to think about driving any where.

All was good at this hotel. Wednesday evening motorcycle gathering during the summer - a lot of very loud Harley Davidson's ! The entrance to the seaside park where the Harley's gather is unfortunately in front of the hotel. Several hundred motorcycles !!!

The building and grounds. The sea front location. The friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Nice bright, clean , comfortable, well appointed and quiet sea view room ( other than Wednesday evening). Dining facilities for dinner and breakfast are good. Nice afternoon tea on the lawn. We selected this hotel based on good reviews. We would return.
