Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMy room (3) was on the ground floor of the pub, facing the main road, so there was quite a bit of noise from traffic, in addition to aircraft landing and taking off from Heathrow. (But late at night it eased off and was quiter.)
The room was a really good size, plenty of space. Great bathroom and shower. Ground floor room, so easy to access. The breakfast was really nice. The staff were friendly. The free car park was very helpful.

United States of AmericaThere was a musty, mildew smell to the part of the building our room was in. Though the bed was comfortable? The pillows were lumpy. There is no counter space in the bathroom, no place for towels. There is no place to set things in the room. Could use a cabinet in bathroom with extra counter space.
The service was wonderful. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Osteich drink! Our room was very clean.

United States of AmericaIt was a bit tough figuring out that we needed to enter the pub in order to check in. Perhaps a cute sign out front to guide guests to go through the pub to check in.
The staff was so warm and welcoming. The food at the pub is excellent!

United KingdomMy room was lovely and suited me perfectly. Although I’m glad it was quite grey & miserable weather, for had people been smoking & drinking outside, I’m guessing it could be quite noisy.
I used to live nearby so when I needed somewhere to stay over it was my first choice.

United KingdomNothing really, met all our expectations.
Stop over before an early morning flight from Heathrow, but it exceeded my expectations regarding cleanliness and comfort. Food in the evening, although a little expensive (realise it is on the outskirts of London) was excellent.

United States of AmericaThe lighting in the room was a little wonky.
We stayed at The Ostrich on the last night of our two-week trip to England and it was the best food we had, both lunch and dinner. We saw breakfast served in the morning and were sorry to have to miss it. Absolutely charming. I hope to go again... I mean, it's been there since 1109.

MexicoIt was rather busy and the staff seemed preoccupied. Food took a while to arrive. But we were treated well.
Location very convenient for Heathrow and more pleasant environment than a standard hotel. Interesting historic building. Excellent and convenient parking. Very comfortable room and good food. The Ostrich Strawberry gin is highly recommended.

United States of AmericaIt's about an hour away from London's top sites, but so is London Heathrow Airport, so it is what it is. You can easily take the 703 bus and the tube (underground train, Picadilly line going towards Cockfosters) into the city, which is what I did, with no issues.
Established in 1106 AD! I love this place--I've stayed here twice. It's beautiful, the pub is very good, the rooms are nice and comfortable, and it's only 10-15 minutes from London Heathrow Airport (terminal 5, use line 703).

AustraliaFake grass in beer garden. No washbasin in toilet.
Such an historic hostelry, yet modernised with taste, providing very comfortable and quiet accommodation. Cosy bar serving great food. So handy for Heathrow and much more atmospheric than any one of the drab modern hotel chains nearby.

United KingdomBreakfast was very slow arriving Skirting boards and architrave on the toilet cubicle were very grimy at the bottom Had the soup for dinner and it arrived tepid Breakfast took ages to arrive - to the extent that I went from having "oodles" of time to being late arriving on site. Opted for the veggie breakfast at £9.50 but was then charged £12:00 (the price on the menu for a full English) as I'd had a pot of tea. Noisy mattress - sounds odd but I think the mattress was based on springs so everytime I breathed, I could hear "ping, ping. ping" from below. Ended up with earphones and listening to the radio, then managed to get to sleep. Directions to the rooms were not clearly marked, some were hidden behind a plant
Service at breafast was very slow resulting in me being late on arrival at site despite having allowed ptenty of time. Staff were friendly. Car parking was good. Location was fab for the site I was visiting Very old building, lots of character Very convenient for the site I was visiting Restaurant had lots of space
