Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLighting in room, would benefit from LED bulbs, low energy and brighter.
The cereal, fruit, yoghurt, and homemade cake, made our day energised for the day’s walking. Very convenient to the Mortimer Trail. Beds were extremely comfortable, and free standing bath with Epsom salts was a delight for Julie.

United KingdomNothing really my wife was happy with the fruit/yoghurt left in the room for breakfast, nothing fancy but it did the job.
The property has so much character inside and outside. Nicola the owner was very welcoming, the room was ideal for us with two large windows looking out over the amazing garden. For us the bed was comfortable and a great nights sleep.

Extremely comfortable, large room with great amenities. Nicola, our host, provided daily snacks and drinks in the room and recommendations on things to do and where to visit. Very quiet location. Close to Hay on Wye for a little town visit.

United KingdomWe were initially disappointed at being advised breakfast was only muesli and yogurt in the room rather than a cooked breakfast but in fact it was such a lovely room and also included fruit, banana bread, local apple juice, excellent coffee and a nice chocolate biscuit! The mattress was also the best I've ever slept on. Nicola was lovely.

United KingdomI liked everything about this place!
It was an exceptional place to stay. A huge room and bathroom, and beautiful grounds to wander around. And very dog friendly too. The room decor was stunning. We felt like we were royalty! The breakfast of cereal and fruit in my room suited me well and made for a very relaxing start to the day. It was very kind of the host to make a dairy free cake for me and very much appreciated. It was on a quiet road with doggie walks along the Mortimer Way straight from the door.

United KingdomNothing, we loved it all.
Beautiful Vicarage, nice big room overlooking the garden. Very quite and tranquil. Bed was super comfy and the ultimate roll top bath topped it off. The homemade apple cake was delicious and we had in our room lovely little paper card and rose as it was our first wedding anniversary. Beautiful touch which was much appreciated. We had a delicious meal in The Stagg Inn which was literally 5minute walk away, made with some delicious local produce. Would definitely recommend

AustraliaThe Old Vicarage is stunning. The room was large and beautifully appointed with everything you would need. Nicola and Steve are wonderful hosts. Nicola thoughtfully emailed us a great list of things to do in the area and intuitively delivered things to our room that she thought we might need to make our stay more enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful and we had a lovely time enjoying the croquet that Steve set up for us. There are lovely walks from the gate of the property and the local pub is great.

United KingdomWhat a great little gem. From the time we arrived, the host was brilliant. We had cake waiting for us and the host was there to offer ice and even wine glasses if required, in the fridge was water , apple juice, milk plus yogurt for our breakfast the following day, this included muesli and fruit as well. The room was perfect for our needs, a large comfortable bed, extra large towels in the bathroom, plus Epson salts, shampoo, and bodywash. The large roll-top bath had a shower attached to the bath, so expect to shower sat down

Nicola was a great host, warm, friendly and helpful with advice and any requirements. House and bedroom beautifully presented in a traditional style. We only had a one night stop over, but the area was very pleasant and we enjoyed a walk through the village and a pint at the pub/restaurant, 'The Stagg Inn'. Simple, quality breakfast and beverages provided in a cute pantry off the bedroom - a nice touch.
