Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot a problem as such, but we came in separate cars and there was only room for one of us to park on the premises. I parked on the road which worked fine. No problem finding a space.
Lovely little cottage, very comfortable. I shared with a friend which worked well. There is a beautiful garden to wander round and sit in which was lovely.

United KingdomThe lack of handrails in the bathroom was a problem for 2 of us who couldn't use the shower over the bath.
The cottage is very comfortable and central in terms of being in the centre of Nether Stowey village and near the Quantock hills and coast. The hosts are very welcoming and thoughtful about the differing heating and bedding needs of our small party. The cottage is well equipped.

Very spacious characterful accommodation. Friendly host, made us feel very welcome. Went with children and there were books, cuddly toys and also provided a cot and high chair as requested. Would definitely return.

United KingdomWifi was up and down, to the extent it was unusable for much of the time but I wasn't there to work on the laptop and tethering was fine. We were then on a particularly chilly weekend and it was quite cool inside the cottage. No surprise, it's an old place and insulation is non-existent.
Very nice, helpful owners. Rustic, old style cottage on two floors. Two good sized bedrooms and a modern bathroom with decent shower. A few books and board games and a small flat screen TV. Well located for exploring the area and even into Devon. Lovely large garden. Plenty of parking space.

United KingdomWe had a two-week stay in the Housekeeper's Quarters - two adults and two children (12 and 6 years old). Had a great time. The apartment we occupied was right under the roof, it had two bedrooms in addition to separate living room and kitchen. It was full of character, very spacious, private and very quiet. The house had an absolutely massive walled and secure garden with apple trees and toys for the children. Our children spent quite a bit of time in it. The village of Nether Stowey is tiny, but has all the required amenities in addition to being rather picturesque - a small well-stocked shop that stays open late-ish, couple of pubs (one serving food), a hill where an iron-age fort used to be, and a National Trust museum in a cottage where Samuel Coleridge used to live (well worth a visit despite a modest outward appearance!). The area around (Somerset, Devon to the west, Dorset to the south) is very rural, with beautiful landscapes. The Somerset coast beaches are not really suitable for swimmng, but great for walks and fossil-hunting. The beaches on the south Dorset coast, however, are great for swimming and are about an hour away by car. Generally, the area has many attractions that definitely kept us busy for the whole two weeks - beaches, forest and hill walks, National Trust properties, etc. A special thanks goes to our hosts. They were extremely kind and welcoming and showed us all the key attractions in the area.

United KingdomIt was a little dark in the cottage - but then the weather for the week we stayed was rather wet with not much sunshine!
The Stable Cottage is ideally situated in the centre of Nether Stowey and a good base for walking on the Quantock Hills. It had everything we needed for a week's stay, including off-street parking. Manor and Ann are excellent hosts.

I stayed for three nights in the self catering Garden Wing which has it's own little section of patio, kitchen/dining room, living room, bathroom and bedroom. It had everything you would need for a relaxing stay, as I did, or as a base for exploring the walks in the area. I imagine the acre garden would be amazing to sit in when the weather is dryer. The local shop is very much a tardis and very friendly staff, as are the locals of Nether Stowey.
