A hotel with a long pedigree back to coaching days which has been sympathetically modernised to current standards. Part of our group stayed in one of their cottages which was beyond expectations. A truly exceptional hotel.

The bedroom is in the attic. You might bump your head if you stand up from the side of the bed.

The big plus of staying in the hotel is the breakfast. It’s convenient and saves visitors’ time in finding places to eat in the morning.

The breakfast was excellent, as usual, and the location is good being on the edge of the Peak District National Park. We were recommended Old Hall many years ago and always recommend it ourselves.

Great location, having the 2 venues really makes for a great weekend getaway with a different feel each night. Paper mill is cosy with a nice pub vibe and excellent pizzas and the old hall is perfect for a more formal dining experience with rustic ambience. The breakfast is THE BEST!!

I loved it. Beautiful characterful Inn. Loved the GPS you could borrow. Stopped us getting lost. There was some noise from downstairs so I dont think it would suit people that don't like noise.

The level of noise in the evening - we were pre-warned about this when booking and everything was quieter past the Old Mills closing hours.

The Old Hall Inn is in a fantastic location, conveniently close to the train station and town center of Chinley and on the starting route to plenty of lovely walks of different distances. Breakfast and dinner options were exceptional! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A fantastic facility that the hotel offers is a GPS tracker loaded with walks from the hotel that a member of staff is able to talk you through, offering good suggestions and answering any questions you have. The room was very comfortable and clean with the facility of a coffee machine much appreciated by us.

Very difficult to access room with luggage in Paper Mill. Breakfast buffet could be better explained/marked for ease of locating jams, etc. More easily accessed outlets in rooms. Dingy entry hall carpets.

The location was stunning when we put on social media we got lots of comments. The weather was lovely too. Food tasty loved the hatch in the wall. STaff lovely even bringing us room service on drinks .

Only slight quibbles, restaurant related - We had to wait about 15 minutes for our wine to arrive (apparently waiting for glases to be washed - one glass was still wet through) One of the main meals was not available and this could have been relayed to us before ordering and disappointment(Lamb Bourginon) - we were offered it but with a 1 hr wait - this could have been done at check-in? Otherwise an excellent meal.

It was an amazing experience. The hotel itself is extremely comfortable and cozy, so is the pub. The staff is great, pleasant and really eager to help. We really recommend as a great place to stay and rest after a full hiking day in the Peak District.

There is little to nothing i'd say was below our expectations - we would certainly reccomend this to any friend or family member. Although we were situated above the pub and could hear people below, after 11pm - it was very quite and even before this, it didn't disturb us after a long day walking around the peaks.

The Room was excellent, cozy, clean and spacious for 2. Although the Old Hall resturant was closed on wednesday, the papermill was an excellent alternative which provided amazing pizza's and we even got to meet a chef at the Old Hall while we had our evening meal.

Wow - so impressed with the stay. As mountain lovers (and from out of town) we were totally blown away by the care and kind support from the Old Hall team - We got some wonderful information and our evening meal was amazing - Luckily had two other meals to make sure. Loved it so much that we are definitely coming back - THANK YOU
