Emma was a fantastic host to myself and my sister, easygoing, kind and lovely to chat with. Room was spotless and loaded with everything you need. Breakfast was delicious with lots of different choices. Located right opposite the beach with free parking just around the corner. Will definitely be staying here again next time we visit the area.

I went there with my brother who is a sous chef and we planned to visit Jamie Oliver restaurant and the place on pier. The B&B was the best opition we could book in this area. Emma was very nice and we feel very welcome from the fist step into hotel. The room, toilet and food serving area was very clean. Breakfast was great! All fresh and served hot but not like in chain hotels served from buffet. It was realy hot and sausage was the best I ever ate in UK. Emma said that is from local butcher and this is very important as we love to support small, local business. Thank you very much for hospitality.

breakfast was good with option of fruit, cooked, etc and I chose what i wanted. The host was helpful, conversational without being overbearing and generally nicely welcoming.

traffic noise was surprisingly minimal as property located on the main road small shower/toilet but practical for a short stay our room was located near the front door and stairs so we could here people coming and going/talking from 7am

bedroom was ideal for us had all we needed in it enough storage space for our clothes, hairdryer, and even spare coat hangers which is always a positive a very comfortable bed we slept well perfect location for the wedding we were attending at the Roslin hotel a 5 min walk away restaurants and bars also walking distance and beach across the road

Everything was absolutely fine.

Very convenient for transport, bus stop right outside. Emma was very friendly and helpful and cooked the most marvellous breakfast. The beach was just across the road and a superb park only a few hundred yards away. The room was spacious, comfortable with all expected facilities as well as tea, coffee and biscuits, plus bottle of water each day. It was very clean and tidy, with a TV and several magazines also available to read. Very friendly and homely and a 'must, for a return visit. I was made to feel very much 'at home'.

Nothing could have been better!

Emma and John were such lovely hosts - they were so accommodating and welcoming after my long journey. As a lone female I couldn’t have felt safer. The location is perfect, right on the seafront with a free carpark just behind. Breakfast exceeded my expectations with a menu including full English (and veggie option) or other cooked options including salmon and scrambled egg, etc, and also fruit salad, greek yoghurt & honey, cereals and toast. Great value for money. I was sad to only be staying one night for work - would definitely return if in the area again.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful landlady. Tastefully appointed room with a spectacular view. The most unbelievable bed i’ve slept in. Crisp aromatic bed-linen, firm mattress, spotless. Delicious breakfast. Warm and friendly environment. If you go to Southend, don’t bother going anywhere else.
