Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLack of parking, and I booked on booking.com and it said parking available-however we had to go to the car park over the road, but this cost £18 each for us to park their. As my husband met me after work. I think that maybe if the parking is not available in the hotel car park then payment for the other parking that as a hotel offer a reimbursement for this.
We liked the room and the shower was good.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a grand building but still feels slightly institutional (it was originally a hospital) and the colour schemes throughout plus the barren corridors do nothing to stop this feeling! Also, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and their owners would normally have to eat in the bar or library. However, the excellent staff made us feel very comfortable in a delightful, small circular room off the main restaurant, which was ideal. Unfortunately, the actual meal was a disappointment but again, the staff did their best to rectify this.
Our Junior Suite was very comfortable and had everything needed + much appreciated extras so felt very welcoming. There was also a lovely bed, bowls and treats for our small dog. The hotel welcomes dogs, but not in the restaurant and this means dog owners have to sit elsewhere to eat, but the staff accommodated our needs. There is also a good outside area for alfresco dining. An excellent breakfast is available too. Our stay was definitely improved by the whole atmosphere within the hotel made by the smiling, efficient staff.

United KingdomCouldn't have air conditioning on in the night as it only turned on with the lights and the room got very stuffy, we had to open the windows onto a busy and noisy main road
Staff were excellent, the beds were comfortable and everything you needed was to hand.

United KingdomOur room was smaller than expected with the toilet very close to the bed. The mattress was so soft we rolled in to the middle when we both were in bed. Needs new mattresses for sure. Breakfast was included in our prices but wouldn’t pay £20 for the cooked option. We had eggs Benedict and the eggs weren’t runny and the muffin very soft and not enjoyable or tasty. Plenty of pastries and fresh juices available though and enjoyed the granola. The pool area wasn’t kept very clean and could have had staff come clean the changing rooms and sweep away pools of water !
Perfectly placed , close to the river and town . Fab little pool and the staff were very accommodating

United KingdomStaff at the restaurant were great. However, the service was a quite slow and we had to wait for quite some time to be seated and get our order taken - they were clearly short staffed on the day so can't fault them.
Absolutely amazing stay! Staff at reception and housekeeping were very friendly and professional. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are very well decorated and comfortable. Toiletries in the bathroom are good quality. The heated pool was fantastic, perfect to relax after a long day :) Definitely try the food at the restaurant, it was worth the wait!

United KingdomThat parking at the hotel had to be reserved in advance was not obvious at the time of booking.
Very helpful staff even to the extent of providing ironing facility for family member joining us after we had booked out. High quality dinner and breakfast. Interesting conversion of the old eye hospital.

IrelandParking. There was an initial mix up with parking but then I was reassured I would have parking for the stay at £20/night. However, each evening I returned there was a “mix up”. Great hotel, shame about their parking process

United KingdomBreakfast and parking are WAY too expensive. We chose a cold breakfast £18 and the staff put it through as a hot breakfast £22. There was blood on the duvet sheet. Also the shower wasn't hot enough
The atmosphere, the furnishings, the service from staff, the pool. We got a free upgrade on our room which was lovely
