The internet was unfortunately very slow in the room and cell reception was very weak as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Lydden Bell! The cottage was really cosy and very modern. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had to leave in the morning before breakfast, but a tray with pastries, fruit, and cereal was brought to our room the evening before. The location is perfect for taking a ferry or train from Dover. We would highly recommend eating dinner at the pub - delicious food, great service, and beautiful garden! Would definitely return again next time we are in the area.

If one thing we were a little hot in the room a fan would of helped although considering it was the record breaking week not really anything anyone can do.

Everything staff attentive friendly and always on hand to help. Beautifully kept little gem with beautiful ground and accommodation. We will be back.

Really welcoming and friendly staff, The B&B we stayed in was no:5 and it was very roomy and to a very high standard. The breakfast menu included in the stay had lots of options and was delicious, it was only 8 mins in the car to a wedding at the old Kent barn.

We were all awake by 4.30am due to the glass door and the windows with no curtains on them that let in the light

Loved the place, super quiet and easy to reach. Staff was amazing from the girls at the pub at night to the ones who serced us breakfast.

The weak wifi inside the room, i believe this will be sorted soon by the management. Aside from that one it is indeed a great place to stay

Breakfast doesn't start until 9.00 am. That's very inconvenient since there are many guests who want to travel by Ferry. You then get a breakfast package which is very bad. With these prices for a room this is really not in proportion. Moreover, we did get dirty tableware, milk in a jar that smelled of other food. And a pre-packaged cookie.

My daughter's room mattress was saggy and uncomfortable and she and her husband didn't sleep well. Also the rooms were beautifully decorated but there was poor lighting at mirrors for doing make up, the socket for hairdryer was too far away to see in the mirror what you were doing. This applied to the three rooms that our party stayed in. Bring your own make up mirror!

Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast had a good range of choices. We also had dinner on our first evening - excellent!

Great if you enjoy sleeping in a shed

If you really fancy staying in a shed then this is the place for you. The room we got given was so small it literally fitted a double bed and a small table with 2 chairs tucked underneath in it. The tv had no signal at all so watching normal TV channels or even Netflix was impossible. We were next to another room and for the 20 minutes we were there we may as well have been in the room with them as we heard every single word as clear as day. It was really cold in the room too and there was no heater. Unfortunately we did got a call that a family member had passed so couldn't stay and were told it was down to the management's discretion as to whether they could refund any of the payment to which they denied even though we literally sat on the bed then left.

Even though the bathroom was big enough for a child, it was very clean and nicely decorated.

if having a shower you could easy float the complete bathroom, because wall in shower is not long enought. toilet is not comfortable, because of the shape shape of washbasin let the water splash out easy no normal chair in the room (important for older people) the designer of the facilities has not thought whether it is practical

Great ambiente very nice looking room clean nice people great breakfast

Our stay was unsatisfactory and we will not be revisiting this establishment.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Twin Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

The hard flooring was dirty but this was rectified when reported the next day, however, the room was not made up properly for the second day and for older people like us the room had no comfort as there were no chairs to sit on. There were high stools which may be okay for much younger people?? The lovely new bathroom looks great but the bath is dangerously slippery when used as a shower base and there was no provision of a non slip mat or bath surface. We went out and bought one! Breakfast was served from 9 am. but on arrival in the dining area we had to wait 20 mins after that to get coffee. Continental breakfast provisions were minimal - no yogurt, pastries, or even marmalade. Just jam and nutella. Consequently we left a day early.

The room was a recently restyled barn and this had been completed in a very contemporary style. Plenty of hanging space for clothes. Large clear flat screen TV with great choice of channels.
