Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomProperty was exactly as described. Hosts were super helpful and friendly, really welcoming. Loved the hot tub, and seeing the horses running around the field in the morning was a real treat.

United StatesI don’t even know where to begin. Lizi and her family were the most wonderful hosts. So warm and friendly and responsive to our questions. She told me all the best places to go for antique shopping and hiking to the channel. And the cottage was newly renovated and exquisite in every detail. From the large, newly built wardrobe to the medallions and light fixtures on the ceilings to the beautiful lighting in the kitchen. Even the path to the hot tub was magical. Lizi even had homemade bread and eggs and milk for us. We will never forget you. You made so many memories for us in 48 short hours. Come to Texas and I’ll roll out the red carpet for YOU next time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

United KingdomI didn't like the fact that I was only there for one night, a week would be grand.
This is an exceptional property. Although the clue is in the name ("The Lookout"), I was not prepared for the view sitting in a panoramic window overlooking the valley. The space is impressive with a large lounge, kitchen and giant (and I mean giant) bed, which was one of the most comfortable I have used. A wonderful night away, and I hope to be back.

United KingdomTried to think of something genuine to put here but it was all fantastic. Only thing I can mention is that a radio in the kitchen could be a nice touch but definitely not a necessity
Beautiful, stunning place clean, fresh and very spacious! Hot tub was perfect even though the temperature outside was in the minus!! Had a power cut due to the weather (whole valley) lizi got candles for us and made sure we had all we needed. Also coaxed the pigs mango and truffle out so I could take some pictures to show the kids when we got home.

Really comfortable & spacious property with lovely hot tub in private space about 30m away (crocs & gowns provided). Enjoyed watching the stars! Well equipped kitchen. Nice to be left some welcome provisions (eggs, loaf, butter, tea, sugar & coffee) as well as some items like sunflower oil, salt. Good sleep on comfortable bed in quiet location. TV has Netflix & Amazon if you have passwords from your own subscriptions. Host was friendly & helpful without being intrusive. Property was clean & tidy

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing, it was perfect.
The property was made to feel like a home, but to an elevated luxury/quality . The huge bed was so luxurious and unbelievably comfortable. The kitchen was massive, clean and well equipped . The lovely little touches, of homemade bread, butter, eggs and even a couple of cheeky mince pies. We even met the owner and her little boys and doggies and made us feel very welcome. We wish we could’ve stayed longer.

United KingdomCouldn’t say - it was all lovely
A cosy retreat, with some lovely personal touches that made us feel at home. We loved the hot tub and sat there at night watching the stars, and the place itself was super warm and comfortable with everything we needed to nestle down for a winter escape. Lizi made us fresh bread which was a lovely touch and was extremely helpful and on hand for anything we needed. My parents are now booked to stay and try it for themselves XX

United KingdomThe views were amazing, and the rooms were so homely and welcoming. When we got there, Lizi had bread baking in the bread maker for us, and the smells as you walked in were delicious. There were butter and eggs for us as well. This was a lovely touch. Lizi keeps the hot tub on and hot the whole stay so we could go in and out whenever we wanted. We couldn't have asked for a better place for our anniversary and are looking forward to going back in the future.

United KingdomThe bed was a bit too soft and well used for us oldies, but that’s being a bit picky, the rest was great and perfect for our weekend at a family wedding nearby.
Much more than we expected, a large bedroom with plenty of hanging storage, good size en suite shower room and blackout curtains for good sleep. Comfortable well decorated sitting room and large farmhouse kitchen with fresh bread eggs and butter on the table. . And a sweet little private gated garden complete with hot tub looking over the fields and woods. A very warm welcome and the hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming, complete with their young family, horses and dogs.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like.
The location of the property is perfect and in a peaceful and relaxing setting but within 10 mins walk to Honiton town centre. A great choice of places to eat in the area with good transport routes via train and bus. Lizi was a superb host and nothing was too much trouble and would highly recommend. The goodies left were very much appreciated and a nice touch. Thank you for looking after us so well, we look forward to returning in the future.

United KingdomThe only thing we would say is that if using sat nav, it may take you beyond the road which leads you to The Lookout. It is actually well signposted from the road, but it's easy to drive past if you're listening to the directions instead!
The Lookout is really peaceful and the private garden is ideal to relax in, being a secure garden it is also ideal for dogs too. We only stayed 1 night, but would certainly stay again for longer. Lizzi was really welcoming and helpful... the freshly baked bread was a real treat too.
