We arrived at 7pm to the hotel, and the kitchen was closing at 8:30 and the chef left early. Was not very nice because we asked to the recepcionist earlier

The restaurant evening meal was awful, very expensive for what seemed no more than a microwave meal . Steak pie and watery microwave mash with value frozen veg and not the seasonal veg and creamy mash as described on the menu.

Not the staff on hand's fault, but there seemed to be changes to catering etc. which led to no wine at all available, surely management could have authorised a trip to a supermarket for a few bottles? On the other hand, the gin and whiskey was just fine! The staff had to apologise for the dodgy dishwasher and glasswasher, which left stains baked on to most crockery and glasses. Breakfast ticked the menu boxes but the actual quality and choice were basic, apart from the choice of infusions of tea.

The staff were great, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The menu was a bit limited but what we chose was good. The room was comfortable. And it was lovely and quiet.

No draught beers/lagers. Didnt have lot of choice of drink . Ran out of things. Bit set out like cafe bar not hotel lounge.. All tables had cutlery n condiments on so were unsure of where to sit. Chef called in sick resulting in manager cooking breakfast. Most of it ok except eggs burnt n tattie scone burnt. Ran out tattie scones also. Also cold meat and cheese out on table with heater behind so meat and cheese sweating and going soft. Not enough staff on in morning. Poor boy doing waiter orders and reception.. Very quiet although few guests were there . No one used bar. Bit far out. Taxi to Perth 13.50. Didnt do lunch had food available after 5. Menu very basic.

Place was spotless. Rooms good size . Breakfast good choice . Continental . Help yourself to tea,coffe,juice, butter,jam,yoghurts, fruit n cheese cereal and toast. Got choice of hot breakfast. Staff were all very helpful and polite. Ordered us a taxi to perth.

Only downfall was food. We decided to stay in hotel and have an evening meal have to say it was more school dinner than evening meal standard.

The wi-fi was down because of roadworks. Roadworks meant long way round to get to Scone Palace. I had stayed there because it should have been close! Bar was poorly stocked and cooked breakfast not great.

Nothing to dislike about the lodge, signage from the new bypass/ road works needs to be better.

Dirty cups. Extremely Slow service in restaurant. I think I was being taught a lesson for highlighting the dirty cups. Facility is staffed by twenty somethings who probably all have a degree in hotel management & wouldn’t know what makes for a good stay if they met it in their soup.

Only minor thing we would have changed was the duvet weight. For this time of year could have done with a much lighter duvet.

Very friendly and efficient check in. Room was more than adequate and very quiet. Loved that it was a shower cubicle as opposed to a shower over a bath and the shower was powerful and very good. In the morning we were offered a full Scottish breakfast which we did not expect and it was cooked to perfection.

Beautiful bright clean comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Very comfy bed and pillows Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff very helpful and friendly. We left at 6.30am but the lovely night porter had fresh coffee made and gave us a takeaway box so we could take our breakfast with us. Our dogs were made very welcome. We will definitely stay again

Room was clean, with all necessary facilities, but maintenance badly neglected (broken window catch and frame, broken toilet flush button, no TV remote, and hairdryer missing - though one was promptly provided on request). Although the hotel was built relatively recently, the fixtures and fittings seem already to be showing signs of wear and tear (shower surround panels beginning to split). One major design flaw - it was impossible to fill the kettle in the room, as it did not fit under the tap! Although the location was quiet, it's not exactly picturesque, with portakabins and other sheds beside and around the hotel itself, and major road construction going on nearby which meant a long diversion to reach the hotel. When that work is complete and landscaped, the setting might be more attractive. At present it is purely a functional place to stay, and overpriced for what it offers.

Good points: Location convenient for us, room comfortable, staff friendly. Free wifi a plus point, also the USB charging sockets. Could do better: staff were hard-pressed and struggled to cope with running reception and bar and also waiting in restaurant. Dinner menu pretty standard, but food well-cooked. Buffet breakfast choices somewhat limited (they "ran out" of brown bread....!)
