Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s a shame it doesn’t have a window somewhere in the walls. For the stunning sea views you need to be outside. It’s quite small for 2 people but we knew that.
The Little Garden Hideaway was exactly as described. It is a beautifully presented little room with en suite in a spectacular location right near the coastal path at South Stack. It was the perfect base for our weekend stay. It is easily heated and has a fridge and kitchenware for breakfast which was provided The views of the sea from the garden are great.

NetherlandsNo complaints about the place...
Great garden with a view, cozy small room with a smaller bed which is fine for us... Alan and Sue were very friendly and went out of their way several times to help us out... E.g. We had explaining the location to taxi dispatch and Alan was friendly enough to sort it for us. And replacing the standard breafast with plant based options for us... all very friendly

NetherlandsThe space is really small, and there are no cooking facilities (as indicated ). The enjoyment of a quiet stay in the garden was a bit reduced by the music of the neighbors.
The apartment is located in what once used to be a shed belonging to a small cottage, so the space is really limited. But the main attraction is the garden and the beautiful surroundings, located within walking distance of the cliffs, lighthouse, and Holyhead Mountain. The garden is amazing (of course when the weather is good). It is a great place to stay before going with the ferry to Dublin. Even when staying one night, arrive early so you can take a hike along the cliffs!

United KingdomHad to drive to go anywhere as it was a fair distance from anything and also you need to book to eat, we never knew this and after a 5 hour drive, had to drive back out to eat, but could only get fish and chips as all the restaurants were full
Very nice, clean, comfortable and quiet

United KingdomThe bed was small but not enough space for a larger bed. Took us a while to work out how to lock the door.
The location, gardens and room was great with lots of little extras provided including breakfast cereal, milk, orange and chocolates. The room exceeded our expectations and put a smile on our face.

United KingdomTHERE REALLY WAS NOTHING TO DISLIKE ONLY THE DOG MESS VERY NEAR TO OUR OUTSIDE TABLE. AS THE OWNER WASN'T ON SITE I AM SURE THIS WAS A ONE OFF.
BREAKFAST WAS ENOUGH FOR US AS WE WERE CATCHING AN EARLY FERRY, VIEWS WERE STUNNING. BATHROOM WAS WELL EQUIPTED AS WAS CROCKERY. ROOM WAS GREAT BUT FOR A ONE NIGHT STAY. WE WOULD STAY AGAIN BUT WOULD PERHAPS LIKE ONE OF THE OTHER PROPERTIES.

United KingdomJust got home from the little garden hideaway and it was beautiful. Excellent location just 5 mins walk from the lighthouse and around a 10 min drive into Treadur bay. The weather wasn't the best so I didn't get a chance to drink a glass of wine in the beautiful garden overlooking the sea but I would have loved to x

United KingdomFantastic spot, and exactly what we needed after a 6 hour drive from London. Got to see the sunset by the lighthouse. Lovely room, lovely spot, very cosy, and very good value. Nice local walks too, especially if you're sick of the car. Outside the town, so was perfect for us, and then 10 mins to the ferry the next day. Only shame was we didn't get to try the recommended breakfast nearby.
